Georgia starts investigation into Trump's election interference

...from what I've learned about the "speedy trial" statute in Georgia...

...the request, when made by a defendant, must be accommodated by the prosecutor during the legislative term, no longer than 60 days after the request is made.

Fani Willis was Georgia-statute bound to move Chesebro's trial forward.

And I actually wouldn't be at all surprised if the DA anticipated or even expected one of these defendants to, in essence, try to pin the entire responsibility for this vile enterprise at the orange feet of the Donald.

Not a lawyer or legal expert of any kind, but I think the RICO charges that have ensnared all of those indicted may have prompted this "panic", in my estimation, by Chesebro to try and get this thing dismissed at best.

I would be interested in seeing how much, if any, of the conspiracy involving everybody indicted will be allowed to be presented at trial, with regards to Chesebro's specific involvement...

...everybody eventually looks out for his or her own interests in a RICO case.

Chesebro is, in so many words, "flipping" early, to me...because you best believe, sooner or later, everybody's going to point their fingers at whoever they can...

I understand what your point is, but if you were ready to prove your case and your client said they wanted an unusually speedy date would you just say no?

I can see waiting if you wanted them all tried together though, and didn't want to submit your main points early and give the other defense lawyers more ammo to dispute in their cases.
I'm a little confused about some of it anyway, but haven't read all the Indictments. Are only certain ones not being tried together?

Also let’s not forget Trump campaigned on “ Lock Her Up!” He also tried to get his AG to lock up Biden and his family leading up tot he 2020 election. At the same time we see Republicans leading investigations into Joe and Hunter Biden and pushing for prosecutions.

In 50 years, Trump will be remembered primarily for being the first president to have a mugshot, and his MAGA movement will be viewed in an extremely negative light.

 

If don’t think we need to wait 50 years.

 

Hopefully, it won't take that long. But I'm thinking the MAGA generation is forever lost and would need to die out. It's going to take another 30-50 years, with many of them in their 50s today.
