So if Brantley makes it back When JV pitches and you have maldanado catching and dubon in center That means Diaz and Chas will both be on the bench Someone PLEASE stop the insanity
Of all the arguments that we fans make and are at odds with the manager/head coach, the last year has been maddening. Baker going with Maldy way too much. Silas not going with the younger guys (Sengun, Ty Washington, etc) in a tanking season.
I think Silas knew he was fighting for his job and was doing anything and everything to try and win some games. Not saying it was the right approach, but I can at least understand what he was thinking coming from his point of view. He was likely just in way over his head too Baker has gotten pissed that he is questioned so much about the lineup and basically is giving a big FU to everyone. Even the way he sounds when interviewed now you can tell he wants to just tell everyone to F off. He has always been questionable in his lineup decisions, but never more madening than this year and i'm convinced it's out of spite. He has become an angry old man and I won't miss him when he is no longer the manager
I doubt very much that it is out of spite. He wants to win just as much as we do. The problem is that time has passed his ideas by. In the 1970s and 1980s games were won by pitching and defense and catching was an extension of the pitching staff. He has always been a players manager and given them great influence regarding his decisions. He also was ahead of the curve regarding load management among position players, but not so much pitching ((they don't play everyday or even half the days anyway). He honestly believes playing a catcher that can't hit and is awful defensively is the best way to win if a pitcher prefers him. The preference and happiness of the pitcher trumps all. And he is too set in his ways and stubborn to believe anyone that tells him any different regardless of the evidence. And that's why the game has passed him by and he needs to retire after this season.
Per our boots on the ground, MadMax could get a date with Jessica Alba as soon as this weekend, barring any setbacks.
The fck? So what's the deal here? I thought he was on track to come up and play this weekend? Nevermind, saw the twitter post of him going back to sugar land. Forget it, he's done.
This doesn't make any sense because he is still playing games. If it was health related why would he continue playing at Sugar Land? I am so over the way this org handles and discloses injuries.
McTaggert's guess isn't any insight into how the organization does anything. He just played his first back to back. Why would that be a sign that he's not coming back this season? They're not going to keep him in the minors just because.
