Ramaswamy doesn't have what it takes to try and go after the person whose beating him now. He won't have it at a later date. Most of the party is too scared to do what it takes regarding Trump. Only Christie, Hutchinson, and Hurd are willing to even go after Trump. Everyone should go after him for the reason that he's corrupt if not an actual felon. He tried to discount 81 million American votes. Even if they don't care about that, they should do it because they want to win the nomination. When one guy is winning by double digits, the main target every second of the day should be that candidate if they are serious about winning the nomination. Instead they are almost all willing to just hope justice will take care of it for them. Meanwhile they are publicly lashing out at the justice system for doing exactly what they hope is done. It's craven and lacks any kind of leadership.
I like him and find him entertaining, but with regards to foreign policy, I disagree with him on almost everything. Obviously, I have a very different perspective, being from another country, but I find his nationalist views shortsighted. I disagree with him on Ukraine, Israel, Mexico. Can't treat sovereign countries like vassal states. It's arrogant and disrespectful. I do agree with him on Covid, family values, economic issues, taking a hard line on crime, being against leftist nonsense ideologies, etc. I do find some of his views on getting rid of bureaucracy good, but maybe too far-reaching (abolishing department of education, FBI, CIA). I guess my ideal candidate would be a mix of Ramaswamy on economic issues, DeSantis on social policies, Haley on foreign policy.
I think Ramaswamy is ambitious and while I do think his expectation out of this race was to just build his brand he seems to be doing better than most people expected. If he is the last one standing against Trump would he then just roll over or would he decide that he could actually win this thing? If it's him and Trump will certainly start calling him names and insulting him. Does that mean he just takes it, drops his campaign and endorses Trump or does he decide this is his time?
To be fair to you and Ramaswamy I think that's an unfair comparison. From what I've seen of your posts I think Haley is probably your best match although you might disagree with her on Climate Change.
Vivek is smart. He probably knows his own ceiling and understands that the #1 Trump ass-kisser lane is basically wide open for the first time in a very long time. He's gamed all of this out and is going to play the Republican base like a fiddle and float in and out of very cushy jobs in both Republican administrations and within the conservative mediasphere. Good for him, I wish him luck trying to sleep at night.
Regarding climate change, I disagree with all this apocalyptic propaganda and the intolerance of "last rebellion" and the hijacking of environmentalism by socialism, but I would not go as far as Ramaswamy who says the world needs fossil fuels to thrive. No idea what Haley's position on climate change is. I suspect DeSantis might be closest to my views on this.
I just don't really understand why he does it, other than out of personal ambition. He has tons of money and could just enjoy life. I used to think a career in politics could be appealing (and people tried to recruit me into that), but actually, you just have to spend a ton of time with idiots around you, shake a lot of hands, go to events you don't want to attend and play a lot of theater. I'd rather not do that anymore.
She doesn't think that Climate Change is a hoax and did say that it needs to be addressed. Christie and ND governor Burgum have said similar things but Burgum is likely the first to drop out.
You are very naive. People get into politics for the attention and spotlight. People like being known and like being famous. Vivek can go to any red state and probably be friends with the governor and others now. As humans we have a tendency for relationships and fame. It's not about money or power but people are lonely and want to be seen.
This is about ego and I from what I've seen anyone that runs for major public office has an oversized ego and is a narcissist. I don't think anyone is willing to put their life through such scrutiny and put up with all of the other stuff without some massive belief in yourself to the point of being messianic.
You are correct, I just wouldn't want to make that decision anymore myself. Not for a lack of belief that I am always right (surprise!), but I just couldn't be bothered anymore.
dude is incredibly annoying, acts like a belligerent prick, has policy proposals that are not realistic and constantly lies. which means he has a shot in trumps GOP! he might even be a bigger jackass than ted cruz and that is saying a lot. also, meatball is a f***ing weirdo.
I have definitely been on the receiving end of better insults. I think that's true of anyone who has gone through K-12 schooling. In any case, I have since watched the clip, and she did indeed get a great response from the crowd for that. Apparently, and this isn't a joke, the large donors get priority seating. So when she said that neocon / War Party line, she got that great response from those sitting up close. Overall, she seems to have done better at the debate than I thought she would. I bet her numbers go up a bit in the polls.
Also when you best life accomplishment is being the most well known anti-woke activist in a NBA team fan message board, your political aspirations are rather bleak.
Rama Swarmy is just Trump's surrogate attack dog. It looks so coordinated that it probably was. Consider this - Rama Swamry said that his main opponent, Donald Trump, was the greatest president of the 21st century. Why would you say that unless you aren't already working for him?
