You got it half right. Blue states have to keep voting blue and red states republican so they can continue to suckle from the teat. A study by the Rockefeller Institute of Government found that traditional Democratic states contributed significantly more federal taxes per citizen than Republican states. Here are the numbers for some blue states: Connecticut ($15,643), Massachusetts ($13,582), New Jersey ($13,137), New York ($12,820) and California ($10,510). And for some red states: Mississippi ($5,740), West Virginia ($6,349), Kentucky ($6,626) and South Carolina ($6,665). And yet, these same Republican states receive far more in federal dollar expenditures than they contribute in taxes. For example, Mississippi received $2.07 for every tax dollar it sends to Washington, Kentucky $2.89, Virginia $2.24, West Virginia $2.15, Mississippi $2.09, Alaska $2.07 and South Carolina $1.71. Florida, a Republican state, received $1.24 for every dollar it paid in federal taxes.
Buy fruits & vegetables at Costco and Sam's and look for meats (chicken and fish) that are marked down and cook them right away. Avoid costly junk food and condiments that aren't healthy. And keep track of prices on your phone or in a spreadsheet.
These are facts, so juxtaposing to the thread topic, if you want to save on taxes and somehow profit from federal money availability, live in one of the listed states. Sounds like Kentucky is where it's at.
I definitely spend a bananas amount (bananas are the only thing that aren't inflated exponentially) on food now (even grocery shopping). But I'm not fixna live off sodium injected closet raised rotisserie chicken anytime soon. Everytime I get a Costco membership I go once then never go back until I forget a have a membership or it expires or lapses or whatever. The lines oh lawd. And the selection - SOFT toilet paper? Oh lawd. And the hours? C'mon.
Scan and GO? That sounds delightful. ALSO - what's with the gas lines at those places? Geez. Just get gas somewhere else. Same people standing in line to upgrade iphone 98 to iphone 99 are standing line to save 7 cents on gas? I hate it here! Lulz
Yes, it's an app on your phone, and in fact, some of the items in the store are cheaper if you use it because they're trying to promote it's use. You just throw **** in your cart, scan it, then show a barcode at the exit. They scan a few random things in the cart to verify you scanned everything and you're good to go. If you value your time, it's a money savings to not wait in line. The Sams CC gas cash back is on any gas purchase, not just at the store, so you can go anywhere and use it.
