they also have the right to issue public debt and build a nuclear reactor. If the left had any sense they would have said "hey conservatives are now anti this huge evil corporation because two out of focus lesbians kissed in a Space War movie. Lets turn up that corporate tax here as a bipartisan move and throw it in their face for 10 years."

Instead they use it to bash DeSantis out of fear of him running for POTUS which turned out to be a laughably bad tactical move as he has imploded on his own.

So you don't really have a point about how the largest amusement park in the world operates? It was perfectly fine for the state of Florida until DeSantis decided to run for president.

Well they certainly said the bolded, but the next part is just you trying to deflect the blame away from conservatives.

Why is the onus on the left and not the conservatives who made it a personal vendetta against Disney and wokism?

Your cause and effect is off..... as cause comes before effect. Let me explain.... DeSantis first targeted Disney in order to build anti woke credentials and made that sort of thing his brand to run for president.

Do any other amusement parks have a special district anywhere close to what Disney can do with the Reedy Creek special district? Reedy Creek has more taxing power than other districts and cities in Florida. why should Disney be allowed to issue public debt with tax free bonds?

AOC and the left freaked about an agreement with Amazon getting a temporary tax credit for 10 years and was praised. Disney is getting its property tax exception in perpetuity. Their land is "public" and untaxable. The state of Florida is attempting to change this, you are cheering on the multinational corporation because you sniffed a cunt hair of fake progressivism? How do you reconcile that?

I truly don't know. Seems perfectly reasonable the largest amusement park in the world acts like a quasi municipality.

Because it essentially operates as a city and builds and its own infrastructure? Have lands use rights so they can create "a galaxy far away" without Mattress Firms and a nail salon in every shopping center on the property. Again.... why is this a problem all of a sudden after not being a problem for so long?

Don't really care about AOC and your pathetic boogeyman.

Amazon isn't running what is essentially a city that has +20 million visitors annually. And Central Florida doesn't exactly want to take over Disney World's bonds and infrastructure, but the State does as a political stunt.

With cause and effect. This wasn't an issue until Disney became a political target by Ron DeSantis.

Yes I don't think it was a good idea to give Disney the power of a municipality. Especially running their own enforcement on things like zoning and building code interpretation. DeSantis was all for that while as a state representative and even initially as governor though until they opposed him on cultural issues.

Further the recent micromanaging has to do with employee perks. Nothing to do with taxing power.

Meh, companies pull channels all the time - as a way to force a settlement - nothing to see here unless your name is chicken little.

The judge in the case between Florida Governor DeSantis and Walt Disney World has made a huge ruling in favor of the House of Mouse, increasing pressure on the struggling presidential candidate,

Recently, Disney claimed that the Central Florida board was dragging its feet on providing relevant evidence in the case and “dodging its obligations.” As part of this, the House of Mouse requested that the hearing in the case be postponed 75 days, so the board would have to provide discovery materials.

    For its part,

Unfortunately, Judge Margaret H. Schreiber has sided with Disney (per Law360) and postponed the case until an unspecified time in 2024, giving the House of Mouse a huge amount of time to get its case together and further demand evidence from the board.

This is yet another huge setback for DeSantis and his board.

7000 layoffs HaHa ... seven thousand- !!!! normally I regret layoffs but they get what they deserve -

How much money has Disney Pixar lost?

meanwhile freaking Godzilla minus one making a whopping 10 times it's production cost just in the USA nevermind in the rest of the world - Japan doesn't need bloated woke actors - their main actors in the movie normally do anime voice- overs and the acting blew audiences away in a overwhelming appreciation and approval per reviews

Stanning for a mega corp is cringe also. Just celebrate DeSantis being a loser. But no need to praise Disney.
