Verlander worth the price today. God I hope our pitching can get going. We've b****ed (rightfully) about Dusty's lineup choices, but every pitcher not named JP France has been woefully inconsistent, or outright terrible the last 2 months. I think Dusty and his insistence on extra innings are a part of that as well.

Alex Bregman had his customary slow start, but has been quietly (and I mean quietly) consistently good the last 3 months. We've been waiting for him to get going, but he got going a long time ago, it's just been such steady production there was no big hot stretch to immediately correct his overall season numbers. .825 OPS in June .832 OPS in July .860 OPS in August His OPS overall going back to May 15 (which was almost exactly the quarter mark) is .855 (.280/.373/.482).
