Okay so how can you tell the gap in efficiency is due to being a better talent or better spacing and pg play?

thought we should document the media's build up of Edwards and how Green reacts to this kind of pressure

Yeah, we place the ball on a tee for you meat heads because
most of you centers can barely walk and chew gum at the same time.

If you took Sengun TS% as him trying to create his own shot.....it would
    be near 53% as well.

I'll give you credit though, all of Sengun, Jalen Green, KPj, TyTy, Nix,
and Eric Gordon had to get their number vs a packed paint.

Which let's you know how amazing the numbers for KPj and Green were....
going up against starters who were packing the paint every possession.

Ant didn't have to face that as much. At least KAT is a threat to hit a 3.
    Gobert was not though.

Again...because the stats and eye test support it. This is not a controversial statement.

I would love nothing more than Jalen Green to become a better and more efficient player. I believe he will.

If Sengun can score 22ppg on that same TS% while able to play average center defense, I would call him a top 50 player. But until then he has not shown enough for there to be only one GARM franchise player thread to exist.

He just turned 21. Let's see.

I am hopeful for our young guys, under a real coach.

What do you see in the eye test to support it? Are you noticing that Ant gets similar spacing such as the same frequency of clogged paint of multiple defenders?

I get that you are saying "eye test". I was just wanting to engage a bit deeper.

    Roughly the same age
    Comparable vertical explosion
    Jalen is quicker
    Ant is stronger
So far, Ant has been a better shooter and a more efficient scorer, although to be fair, he has been playing in a better situation

I think they will probably have similar careers on offense. The big differentiator right now is defense. Ant is simply a much better defensive player at the moment. Jalen could catch up, but he has a lot of ground to make up IMO. A lot moreso than with scoring, where just some regression to the mean on his shooting plus a better situation will bring him close to Ant's level.

It might seem unfair to Jalen, but a lot of the difference in reputation is because the Rockets have been hot garbage every year he's been here, and Minny has had a winning record the last two seasons. A lot of that is not Green's fault, but of course sportswriters are going to praise the player whose team had better results. That's just the way it works in sports.

Anthony Edwards - it's not even close. If they can get rid of KAT, then he would be able to shine even more

Getting rid of someone that creates spacing for him makes him shine better?

What is there to debate? Anthony Edwards is better than Green. The question is whose game translates to winning basketball. That's more important. I'd like to see Green under an Udoka system first. It's like James Harden vs Klay Thompson back in 2016/17/2018. Yes James Harden is clearly a better SG but Klay Thompsons ability to play both ends of the floor and play offball and hit the 3's at an efficient clip make him a winner.

21 year olds sometime get better, sometimes they don't. Until then he actually plays like a star, he's just like all other prospects on this team, a lot of potential but not there yet.
