Did he not see Dubon struggle to field a routine flyball at the wall? Dubon has struggled a couple of other times too..he looks like he's nervous out there when he usually has a calm demeanor. Feels like we're always struggling to up runs with the lineup Dusty runs out there for JV and it's no surprise. Where is the urgency? Uninspiring line ups lead to uninspiring play.
At what point does Brown step in and say "enough"?? I can't imagine either he or Crane thinking this is the smart move.
I don't care if Singleton is a gold glove 1st baseman. You can't sit a .280 hitter for a .100 hitter. The Stros will probably miss the playoffs by a couple of games and this will fall directly on the old man. SMH. 9 runs last night, 3 tonight if they're lucky.
I’m starting to hate the JV trade more and more everyday. If one of Gilbert or Clifford become a star, I’m gonna say it’s one of the worse trade in Astros history cuz of Dusty. Beyond ****ing stupid!!
Diaz...18 homers, 44 RBI's. Hitting .281. OPS+ 125. WAR 2.3 Singleton...2 homers, 7 RBI's. Hitting .113. OPS+ 32. WAR -0.4 Dusty says...I have a hunch on Jon.
I'm sure Dana Brown is boiling seeing Diaz on the bench and Dubon in CF, but he answers to Jim Crane. Jim Crane is the one who has empowered Dusty. If we miss the postseason, it's not Dustys fault for being a geriatric sorry ass manager, it's Cranes fault for letting it happen.
Brantley is playing in SL today and tomorrow and if that goes well it sounds like he's going on the road trip with the team and will be activated.
2024. 2023 is Dusty’s team. We just have to deal with it. ****ing hate it everyday but it is what it is.
790 said Brantley's prognosis is a return by this weekend. I doubt we see Abreu before then. And if we did, his "injury" wasn't bad enough for a .650 OPS this season and he mostly just sucked -- and likely will suck overall for the entirety of his contract.
Red Sox are starting a RHP who hasn't pitched in 2 months..meanwhile Dusty sits Diaz who is slugging .620 and batting .310 against RHP for Singleton who is 1-30 since his 2 HR game.
Everyone else was caught up in the hype. It was a very sentimental, emotional move that I'm usually not a fan of. In line with all other Crane's moves so far. I thought we could've easily gotten Jordan Montgomery for just 1 prospect. He's been pitching shut outs with the Rangers since. JV also guarantees we probably see another season of Maldy at catcher..it's probably why he was so happy and pushed for it. It was a career lifeline.
Yordan in LF is only the best lineup if Maldy and Singleton or Abreu start. The best 9 players, includes Yordan at DH, Chas-Meyers-Tucker in OF, and Diaz catching. And the "absolute it should be a firing (squad) offense to start them" players are Maldy, Hensley, and Julks. We can add Dubon in CF but he's OK at 2B or SS if Altuve or Pena can't start.
Dusty has somehow gotten worst since he went to the White house. He never sits maldy now since the visit. Wtf has gotten into him?
I can’t believe crane is ok with this either though. He’s a smart guy and wants to win. This isn’t ****ing Rocket science. Singleton has been beyond bad since his first game
