The stats from this are too small to consider. His career stats are too old to consider. So, what evidence do you have beyond hope that he's a competent major league hitter? All the evidence that we do have including his recent performance is that he can't hit major league pitching.

If the question is whether Maldy catching or Singleton at 1B is better there are some serious roster construction issues with the team that go beyond that choice. Our best hope is Brantley can play 1B and Diaz catches the majority of games from here on out.
