I'm not familiar with that. I could certainly change my mind.

Astros lost to a team that went 0-17 with RISP. That's got to be close to an MLB record for most at bats with RISP and 0 hits. Astros went 1-3 with that Yordan infield single.

Dusty just has to get Dubon and Maldonado in the lineup.

No matter how inconsistent the rest of the offense is, he has to make sure his 2 favorite scrubs get regular ABs.

If Tucker is too sick to help the team this series, the team is in trouble. They looked helpless tonight offensively. One of the more embarrassing games in recent memory.

I can only imagine the collective groan from the players from the dugout every time Maldy is up to bat. I played baseball in high school and i remember slumping like 0-15 and the guys couldn't even look at me anymore lmao. It's not a good feeling and demoralizing for a team.

They had Dubon, Singelton, Maldonado and Pena in the line up - that is 45% of the line up and they are bad.

The pitching was good enough, they got out of a couple jams.

The offense and defense was bad - not good enough to be competitive.

It is also why I kind of roll my eyes when I hear people talk about the depth the Astros have - they had Singleton playing and he isn’t a big leaguer. Maldonado starts and he isn’t a big league hitter. Dubon was in center and he is an end of the bench quality hitter and Pena should be a #8-9 hitter.

Now - in fairness the Astros would point out that Tucker didn’t play, and there was no way to know that Abreu would hurt his back of Brantley would not play for 14 months …. But it doesn’t change the fact the Astros have often been a bat short.

he can't be the problem today even though he won 1 world series with them in the past? That doesn't follow... he's obviously a major problem and rally killer in the lineup. He's the worst hitting regular MLB player today - how is that not a problem?

There will likely be a new hitting coach added if Cintron becomes the manager next year…. But I would only add that the hitting coach isn’t playing guys like Julks, Dubon, Maldonado, Singleton a lot over the course of a season…. Look how few games the Astros have played their best line up this year.

Is Cintron the leading candidate to take over? Is Dusty **for sure** not coming back?
