I merely asked if the teams were actually that good and you named 2 players off of 2 of them... Need more facts.
Houston Astros: With offense sputtering, Dusty Baker changes a battery https://www.houstonchronicle.com/te...an-javier-houston-astros-battery-18297899.php Can someone give me the jist of what bullshyt is coming out of Dusty's mouth in this article?
Dusty Nats seemed prime to knock the best team in the 21st century out of the World Series with no wins at home... oh... yikes... I am dying inside.
“This ain’t no experiment,” Baker said. “We’re trying to win a game.” ...so what was he doing before?
I would have liked to have found out and said so at the time. You don't let a a that finished 2nd in the Cy Young balloting rot on the bench. Hinch should have taken a page out of Bochy's book when Bochy Called Mad Bum out of the bullpen and road him to a championship on short rest. I'm a big believer in if you lose you lose with your best.
Basically Dusty getting pissy when asked about Diaz, says he still needs to learn how to call a game, and that this is an experiment, don't read too much into it.
Are we conveniently forgetting that Will Harris had a 1.50 ERA that year with an ERA+ of 309. He was the best. Overusing him though... was the mistake.
I agree that they beat us and deserve all the spoils and respect that comes from it. But IMO he knew where to look for the ball and where to swing because of how often he and the team had seen it the previous 6 games. He had pitched in 4 of the 6 games leading up to that AB, facing 16 batters including Kendrick twice. It's very much like Yordan's HR in game 6 last year. The more you see a pitcher the better position you are to be successful.

Yall are arguing about ONE decision by Hinch in ONE game Dusty has 3 decades worth of stupid decisions
Then have Miller call the game from the dugout. Heck, have Maldy call the game from the dugout. Good this Diaz has seemed to embrace the catcher position.
Yeah, one thing I have to give Click credit for is he knew how to fill up the bullpen with quality arms for relatively cheap. He also got us Diaz and Maton for a centerfielder who couldn't hit for crap.
As an Astros fan... it was a relief knowing that Kerry Wood would only make history against us only once because he was ruined by Dusty. And Mark Prior would only be the MLB version of Forrest Whitley. There I said it.
