He apparently is now 103-0 when he gets 5 or more runs of support. Saw that this AM and thought that was pretty wild.
1) Don’t think you’re going to piss anyone off with that…it’s a fact. 2) That contract was ridiculous the Mets gave him and that’s why we let him walk in the first place. Luckily we are only paying him slightly more than $36M for all of next year and the year after. 3) We might not win the division, at this point it’s probably 50/50ish, but I don’t see any chance we don’t make the playoffs at all.
To support this, right now Fangraphs has us at 48.3% to win the division, 91.9% to make the playoffs and 12% to win the World Series. The Rangers are 47.7/94.4/6.6 (odd they are less on division odds but higher for playoffs, and also odd they project Texas for 1 win more … but it all rounds to 50/50ish as you say). Those are by far the highest WS odds in the West
Astros are virtually tied for Top 10 OPS and are very very close to 9th. One good game will propel us there (and alone at 9th) for the first time all season. Let's get it and never look back.

Yep, their whole team sucks and not because it’s the Rangers. They just over-homer and have bad takes
If the Rangers finish strong and win 97-100 games good for them. The Astros have been winning consistently the last 2 months (despite a manager who rarely puts the best team on the field) and we've finally got our roster almost to the point we want it. We just need to keep doing our thing and we'll be in good shape.
Unless you are saying like a 20 run, 20+ hit/walk game; It will take more than 1 good game. At a sample size of 4100+ at bats, 40 at bats won't quickly push those numbers. Would need a week of good offensive production.
OPS can rise (or fall) 1-2 points with one good/bad game -- even this late in a season. Astros did it yesterday with only 12 runs. Rangers probably fell 3 points yesterday with the near no-no. .000 = 1/1000th of ONE. A very small number Astros are about 1 point from 9th place. A similar slug game to yesterday (not even quite as good) could propel them. A 20-run/hit game would prob raise them 3-4 points.
When the would be homer got caught at the wall last night one of the announcers yelled “OH NOOO!” lol. My son and I thought that was pretty funny
