If both played 162 games: Tucker: 30 HR, 40 2B, 121 RBI, 81 BB, 89 K Diaz: 39 HR, 39 2B, 100 RBI, 15 BB, 129 K * This is not including today ** Diaz's numbers will be skewed a bit low because I just used games played (75 so far) which includes the 12 games he's PH and either stayed in or not. Tucker hasn't PH this year. Fixed, this is only games started.
Now this is true. But that's a one man thing. Marlins should learn from the best and give Soler a day off.
Knee contusion, day to day. X-ray came back negative. Dusty/medical staff is conservative with injuries so he's probably out a week at the least.
Dusty's brain might break now that Dubon can't be JV's centerfielder with Altuve out. Unless he plays Kessinger or Hensley at 2nd....oh god no.
So ******* pissed Diaz can't be in the lineup every single day. Wait until Brantley gets back, you'll really love Diaz's PT then.
5 out of Yainer's last 7 bombs have been with men on base. He jump started the offense today when we were down 0-3. I don't think we win without him.
I believe that's now 12 scoreless innings on the season with Diaz catching Pressly. Maldy was terrible with his pitch calling with Pressly earlier in the season when he went to the breaking stuff way too much.
I really don’t know. I just heard he was dealing with personal issues off the field. He is always going to be up and down as a player though. He doesn’t pick up breaking stuff well so he has to guess sometimes and that makes him up and down. He is a SS so he can get away with some struggles with the bat - but I will admit, I expected him to be a little better this year than he has been.
Pressly dapped Diaz up and told him good job after that last out. Pressly gave up a double on a hanging curveball but Diaz still called for it and it struck out the next 2 hitters. He allowed Pressly to fix the spin/break on it and it paid dividends. That’s the difference between Diaz and Maldy…Maldy would’ve call for 3 straight fastballs awhile Diaz actually attacks hitters and doesn’t shy away from any pitches. Maldys game calling is just way too predictable.
Montero has given up 5 earned runs in his last 20 innings, dating back to the end of June. At some point I expect them to put him in more high leverage spots…. He has had a weird year…. Has been excellent in April, July and August with a cumulative era of around 2.00 and was horrendous in May and June.
Rangers trade deadline moves coming up big for them. Scherzer pitches a shut out yesterday and Montgomery only gives up 1 earned run today. Mitch Garver has been a very good replacement for Heim. Baseball gods are really looking after them.
