Fair on “sense of urgency”. “Play to win” is better. But the effect is the same - put out the best possible lineup, optimizing days off to minimize net impact and rewarding those who are performing regardless of veteran status. It isn’t rocket science, and it doesn’t depend on whether it is game 1 or game 3 of a series or game 50 or game 100 of the season. (Unless the division is locked up.)
Diaz catching for Javier? Don't tell me someone grew a pair and forced Dusty to sit Maldy. Someone's going to regret it later when Dusty hits back.
I think it was inevitable. 1) Maldy simply can't catch every day. 2) With JV now in the rotation Dusty had to pick a starter to give Diaz to. JV was fine with Chirinos - even in the playoffs. My hope is that he asks for Diaz. (And Meyers so Dubon doesn't Bump Bailey himself)
Javier has done his best work ....by a lot...not throwing to Maldonado. There wasn't the slightest bit of reason to think he ever needed to be throwing to him. Him having an awesome game tonight is more important than actually winning. It isn't as if he's been throwing well recently, but if he struggles tonight it will be Diaz's fault, that's just the hill Yainer has to fight up right now.
Also, stop disrespecting Chas. Dusty batting him behind Singleton. Chas has earned it, Singleton has not yet.
Chas needs to be in the middle of the lefties. Yordan Tucker Chas Singleton That way when managers bring in a lefty reliever for that pocket of hitters - Chas can make them pay.
Maldy fan?! Lmao that’s laughable. I’m making fun of the clowns who lose their **** after every loss.
Cool. So when we do score a bunch and Javier pitches great and we win easily (as do often happens in Diaz starts) we can look forward to maldy and Dubon starting tomorrow and hoping we can scrape out a 3-2 win as opposed to losing 2-1 with JV.
