the ‘it happens somewhere else too’ is a deflection of the real problem. Per incident it’s rare that it’s happening in the south vs California and New York .
I’ve been posting this stuff as much as I’ve been posting dead rappers

we should have a tip jar bet on how many racial attacks pop up then.
    @basso

woke people can’t stand it when I bring up California and New York and Chicago and Portland
Why? Cause they are the ones messing up the country now .
People in California didn’t want to move to Texas or Florida or Tennessee
    They had no choice
I posted the Fung bros who are prominent Asian YouTubers and they even see it

    @ROXRAN

you clearly know it breh , there’s no constant stop the asian hate stuff in Houston because people love Chinatown or even that place in Katy
    Vernon Maxwell goes to Chinatown
The racial tensions in California and New York are sky high bro.

yeah we know fat white guys in Texas hate Asians, but they won’t do anything stupid like those teens

He’s saying the stuff we all know is happening in California
he said it and he’s Black

just like in China they are racists towards Black people

It’s the reverse in California cause of the extreme segregation based on race and wealth, their woke politicians destroyed the middle class and this is what you get

racism is everywhere but it pisses the woke narrative that it doesn’t exist in New York City or San Francisco cause the wokies don’t that narrative

never mind racial tensions have been talked about in California since the 80s and 90s in rap music

That’s what I’m saying breh. Do away with this woke crap and speak the truth. We will all get along better if we are actually doing that.

in as much as you chastise Americans for not knowing Hmong aren't ethnically Chinese, perhaps you could google where most Hmong live today.

I don't think that it is as simple as some black men making a decision to attack Asians because they hate Asians.

Not in all cases, but in some cases they have attacked elderly Asian people and in some cases they have robbed them.

I can tell you when we would indict kids/young adults in Chicago for murders/conspiracy/racketeering they were black 95% of the time, and sometimes there would be collateral crimes like muggings, etc. Often times the victims would be older Asians and sometimes Indians. When we pressed the topic, we were always told the same thing - that they felt they were easy targets that would not resist, would not be armed and likely would not go to the police.

I agree with you that there has historically been tension between Asians and black people. In some cases Asians have owned stores or property that is areas that are predominately black and that has caused conflict.

It is all very complicated - and I cannot pretend to know what is in the head of the person committing the crime. What I can say is that (not always) in a lot of cases, what people view as clear cut hate crimes really are not. Yes, if a white male goes and attacks a black church and is connected to the neo-nazi/Nordic nation group - it is a hate crime. However, the vast majority of violent crimes where the parties were not known, had complicated motives. This is why I haven't typically liked the idea of "hate crimes". For example, we had a few rapists that were black or Hispanic and all the victims would be white women. Is that really a hate crime? If they live in an area that has predominately white people, is it just chance all the victims are white? What if the assailant is only attracted to white women? - these are issues and concerns I don't think attorneys should be deciding.

I am not saying that there are not cases where someone is targeted simply because the assailant hates the race of the other person - it does happen, and it happens too often. However, what I am saying, is that in my work experience - most attacks when robbery is involved, and sometimes even senseless violence in involved - there usually are a few reasons why that person was chosen.

    That’s true in most cases
But there’s general mistrust going on in certain cities
But this particular one I believe is pure hate and as I told @rocketsjudoka who doesn’t believe my story that I talked to some NYU grads who told me that racial tensions are bad there and much better in Houston
As i ate my sashimi yellowtail

I'll make sure to ask my Hmong friends and clients that next time I talk to them.

Also that's a rather odd response in regard to attacks on Hmong by people who can't tell the difference between them and Chinese.

The guy who does those videos is from Minnesota. Really good videos about travel and food.

I haven't seen this video yet but I wouldn't be surprised if I've been to the places he cites.

I agree it's not simple and the arguments that it's "because black people hate Asians", "it's wokeness", "Its just a CA and NY problem" aren't helping. That's why I even bother to post here (also because I'm stuck in hurry and wait mode again.)

From what I've heard is many of these cases are due to mental illness and that we have so many mentally ill people out on the streets is a larger problem. Another problem that I will agree with some of our other posters is that COVID lockdowns caused a lot of social disruption and we've seen a disturbing trend of teenagers doing things like this.

Like so much there isn't an easy solution. Like with the shooting in Allen, TX ideology and rhetoric from the Right is fueling bias hate. At the same time lack of LE enforcement arising from distrust of LE and poor management of cities is causing problems. This is why I will simultaneously criticize the Left for thing like Defund the Police and the Right for things like "Kung Flu" and "CHY-NA Virus".

Unfortunately too often this debate like many others is framed in Ideological terms. We see it just on this page where posters are at once saying that people are allowing bias to dictate even as they insist this is mostly about CA, NY and wokeness.

Hmong from China are Chinese, just like Hmong from the US are Americans.
