He’s being ran down by a D lineman and a linebacker. He’s not mobile. He’s functional but nothing explosive or elusive about him. He’s a pocket QB that can take the yards given to him
Um, NFL linemen can run down VERY mobile QBs. Stroud is mobile, but he is not a runner. There is a difference. You don't understand that concept.
He is neither mobile or a runner. Sorry you just don’t know athletics. He’s a Matt Ryan, Jacoby Brissett, Jameis Winston level athlete. Not explosive, not elusive and can’t make plays when nothing is there. You have no idea at all what you’re talking about when it comes to athleticism. And no, D lineman aren’t running down mobile QBs. Not tackles anyway
Um, Brissett is mobile, Winston is a pocket passer but is mobile. You don't understand what the hell you are talking about. You don't have to be Watson, Jackson, or Allen to be mobile. There is no one definition of a mobile QB. There are different levels of mobility.
Neither Brissett or Winston are mobile, in fact Ryan is more mobile than both of them. Stroud is not mobile or elusive. He’s a functional athlete and a pocket passer. He isn’t making many miss and isn’t making plays outside of structure. That is mobility
You are not listening. You can be mobile, not elusive. Being elusive is being quick. Tank Dell is not fast (elite), but he is elusive. Lamar Jackson is fast and elusive. Deshaun Watson is elusive but doesn't have elite speed like Jackson. The point is there is different levels for everything. Stroud is mobile, but doesn't have elite elusiveness or speed. Matt Ryan was mobile early in his career, but was elusive and didn't escape speed. There is no one classification for mobility.
You are talking semantics. If that’s the case, then every QB in the league is mobile. It’s all relative, Stroud is on the very bottom of league QBs in terms of mobility and athleticism
If we go by conference . Rodgers Tua Allen Mac Watson Burrow LJ Pickett Mahomes Wilson Herbert Jimmy G AR Tannehill Lawrence Out of those, Stroud is literally at the bottom with Mac and Jimmy G as far as mobility. That’s not a knock on him, it’s just what QBS are now. Can take what’s there, avoid some easy pressure. He just needs to improve under pressure and prove he can make plays outside of structure and outside the pocket. He hasn’t been good throwing on the run. If he can, he’s going to be good.
He wasn’t even being ran down by the d line, in NO universe is that line man catching up to him lol. Watch the play dude! Good lord your extreme bias is blinding you from even having to judge a simplistic observation.
Some people are saying Stroud was chased down by a defensive lineman, however other than the sack, I didn't see him being chased down. I thought he started.to show his mobility, he esacped the pocket and picked up 5 or 6 yrds and on another play, he escaped and picked up postive yrds but was short of the first down....it happens! I happen to think Stroud is mobile! That He's able to escape the pocket and pickup positive yards when needed. But every QB gets sacked, every QB gets chased down, every QB has bad games, even the most elusive.
Some people are saying Stroud was being chased down by defensive lineman, however other than the sack, I didn't see him being chased down. Actually, all things considering, I thought he played about avg. being it was his first start and him playing behind a makeshift o-line. I happen to think Stroud is more mobile than many initially thought. Hes definitely not a statue! He's able to escape the pocket and pickup positive yards when needed. But every QB gets sacked, every QB gets chased down, every QB has bad games, even the most elusive.
