I do not subscribe to the premise that a player is either great or is worthy of being benched or f#$ed with. Meyers and Pena should be everyday players as well because they are just flat out better than other alternatives (except when Diaz/Yordan are playing DH/LF on a day Diaz is resting from C).
I run the full gamut of emotions. It’s what passionate fans do. Phony sunshine pumping posts are boring and they bring nothing. See how my posts attract your stupid posts? Your “go team” posts go unnoticed because they are worthless. Lots of rabid fans here getting both happy and pissed all the time. Adapt or go home.
I think Hunter needs to be come out of the pen in the playoffs so he can play up as a reliever with his velocity. France is just a better pitcher.
There defense is really good! I remember a short time ago when Phillie fans were b****in about how lucky the Astros were. In reality good defense is just as important as pitching
Honestly, I’m not sure who was available. I was at a late lunch meeting where I had to sneak away to figure out what our ‘stros were doing! “give me a second, I just need to go to the bathroom” …..for the third time. So I’m not sure who was available off the bench to pinch hit there. I got to see the top of the 9th, and I immediately wondered who we could have used as a pinch hitter in that spot. Also, as an eternal optimist, i thought about how cool it would have been for Singleton to come up big in that situation
Chas was hurt. No one available and Singleton hit the ball really well his first two at bats. It was a close one vs the best closer in baseball. If we were promised 2-1 before the series, matching Rangers 2-1 vs Oakland, we’d have jumped on it. Game sucked - bad bounces and bad luck everywhere. But the arrow is pointed the right direction.
I feel like Dusty cost the team another win by keeping Brown in too long. There was a day off Monday, and no RP pitched in both of the 1st 2 games of this series so everyone should have been available for the 7th, 8th, and 9th. They are talking about the young pitchers coming up on most innings ever thrown. Why keep him in for the 7th inning? And if you do, why not pull him when 1st batter reaches. They were just scorching him!!
It's just unfortunate that after we finally gained a game back on the Rangers, it's going to go right back in the trash. But it is what it is.
Yeah that was the game winner right there. They got lucky , Dusty is our skipper and that snag right there...
I mean, Pressly's last pitch of Game 1 should have been ball 4, so.... breaks tend to even out over time.
