Okay cool. They showed the ballpark cam on MLBN like 10 minutes ago and the tarp wasn’t out plus the sky didn’t look like imminent rain so was wondering.
joking or serious? Because that would explain this quite well, in addition to the other Chas related lineup shenannigans
I always consider it when unexplained last second changes happen… or any time a player is out for “flu-like” symptoms (but is back the very next day).
You are right. They are very hot right now. They went 17-9 in July and are 7-1 in August. 2022 18-7 in July, 17-10 in Aug. But 14-12 in Sept. Great overall. 2021 14-10 in July. 15-13 in Aug. 18-8 in Sept. They may finish strong. We shall see. September should be an amazing finish in the AL West and East. Lots of great baseball too be played.
Except Dubon is 4 for his last 26, 0 XBH, 2R, 0 RBI, .154 AVG, .421 OPS Chas is only slightly better, 9 for 36, 4XBH, 8R, 5 RBI, .250 avg, .857 OPS. I can't complain too much, no Maldy and Abreu so 2 out of 3 isn't bad.
I imagine (hope) both of them are on the same page and Chaz just didn't feel like a knee bruise was worth mentioning. However it makes for pretty bad optics when a player says he's fine and able to play and the manager says he's hurt.
This is what you get with Dusty. He always gives a player one extra day when they say they are fine after an injury.
I mean- he hit a ball over the wall that got brought back into the park and had a double. Never came out of the game. He demonstrated he was fine.
Except last year in the playoffs when Saint Maldy was put together with duct tape, he kept it quiet and kept playing him. It is hard living in Dusty's world where there are contradicting rules for players based on how he likes you.
