We are allergic to sweeps and the O’s havent been swept since May of last year. Would be cool though. We need it anyway.
Since their 5-0 lead in the 2nd inning yesterday (3 of those runs were gifted to them by Tucker) we have outscored them 15-3 and have brutally smashed their pitchers. I think the young Orioles learned a valuable lesson, taught to them by the old heads on the block. The old G’s slapped em around a bit. I bet they learn.
How bout those two wins? Negative meter get below 100 in here for a half a day maybe? 162 games is a long season, lots of ups and downs. Real test is when it's nut cutting time in must win games. The boys look like they might pull this out if they can stay healthy and over come the Dusty dumbos of the day. Either way such a great franchise compared to all the teams I've rooted for for decades. O's are a great team but they have never been in this spot and they don't know what to do once they get punched in the mouth. The one positive I do believe Dusty gives is he is calm and it keeps the team from getting too high or too low.
Astros have left 16, yes, 16 runners on base. That's ridiculous. I must be reading the wrong box number
This is actual a great question. I honestly think Dusty felt Diaz would be drawn to those misses, specifically the high misses and didn’t want to let Fujinami off the hook and the game plan was for Maldy not to get reeled in and walk, just throwing it out there…..
Assume the 1st 3 batters get on base. The next 3 guys strike out. Each of those guys left 3 on base and that gets added to the bottom of the box score. So in that inning it would show 9 men left on base, when in reality it was 3.
It's times like this where one would give Dusty credit for making an intelligent and nuanced in-game baseball decision... Yet, of course, due to his past reluctance/negligence to PH for Nads late in games, we'll never know if his move today was one borne of calculus or trepidaysh... So it's difficult to.
Somebody probably already answered, but they are scoring it like this: Say the first three batters get on base, then we get two strikeouts and a grand slam. The team has left no runners on base, but two different batters each left three. so the total left on base in the box score is 6. As a matter of fact, Frank_Duhon had already answered it.
