[Poll][Rockets Season 2023-24] Jalen Green Unleashed... Will He Rise...or Wilt....

This thread has a weird premise. The Rockets brought in FVV to run the show this year, drafted Amen who's best skill is running an offense, and also need to feed Sengun and Jabari the ball more if they've improved as much as fans are hoping. If anything Green is being put on a leash where he's going to be a secondary ball handler on offense and asked to play harder on defense. Rather than the freestyling he's been used to.

I think he's going to become a more winning player, but I wouldn't be surprised if his stats take a hit.

 

Finally some sense.

I have been saying that all along that we will struggle for the first couple of months as roles are defined and IME settles on his rotation.....by January ish we should be starting to rise.

And most guys stats will suffer as they are forced to play more TEAM oriented ball.

At least until Heirarchy is established.

I was thinking something similar ..... the volume of shots he gets is likely to decline, he's had a neon green light and a disproportionate percentage of the offense going to him with this tanking team.

The hope is that while the volume declines, the quality improves .... then again, he did miss an awful lot of open / wide open shots over the past two seasons.

There is reason to be hopeful .....

I mean. Hell probably expand on things like playmaking. He already has an elite skill of collapsing defenses so I'm sure ime will utilize that and Green hopefully in his third year makes better decisions on when to pass out and when to try to finish at the rim.

Lol. So I'm assuming you want to rewind two years ago where you were looking forward to the core of geriatric Wall and Olidipo with Wood. That got you all excited to be engaged with following this team? That made you hopeful for the future?

dude says straight up at the beginning of the video, he's concentrating on losers.

 

An experienced PG opens the offense, my G. More plays. More opportunities. More efficiency.

Amen will take time to develop and having 2 PGs is absolutely essential in depth, so no fears about losing minutes. KPJ will also be used in a 3 guard rotation, so not a lot of minutes lost there. Play on. Play on.

 

this is a good take. My thinking is that Green will get much easier shots and be put in better spots to capitalize on his strengths. That just didn’t happen last year with KPJ running the point and the terrible coaching and poorer surrounding cast. But this year there’ll be better ball distribution, more structure and coaching discipline, and a better supporting cast who will get looks. So I think his efficiency will improve but agree with Meh that total scoring won’t increase. And that should add up to more wins and a better overall season for Jalen.

 

Jalen is too young for his e.d. phase so I voted rise.
