I would do it now. Sign him 10 years (buy out two arb years) puts him as an Astros until 36.
Don’t want him any longer than that.

Who is better at CF? Myers or Dubon?

Should be Meyers in center and either Diaz or Singleton at first.

I like Pena in the bottom of the lineup, but I miss Diaz.

Meyers by a lot, and Chaz also by a lot.

Dubon is a significant downgrade...he's also a worse hitter. But if Dusty likes you, then you're set for regular playing time whether you should have it or not.

.386 OPS the last month, and an offense thats slumping.

I wonder what it is these players have to do for him to make him like them so much?

Do our pitchers get a pacifier and huggie bear to assist their adolescent need for Maldonado?

    Doesn't the pitcher matter?

Yes, Javier is a flyball pitcher, so ideally you would want your best defensive outfield...and that doesn't include Dubon

Terrible. I can’t believe that we are doing the Dubon in CF thing again. I just can’t believe it. Why is Dusty like that? It’s ****ing criminally bad management of the roster. McCormick is a better CF than Dubon. If you have to start Dubon in the outfield (and you should never have to) then put him in LF. Meyers, Chas, and even Tucker are all much better in CF than Dubon. This is just Dusty being a stubborn ass again.

No diaz who had one of the key RBIs yesterday while Maldy had another forgetful **** game. I hate our manager

Not sure about that, why is Dubon CF with Verlander?

Dusty Hates Chas. Just won’t let him be the CF of this team. No matter what Chas does it doesn’t matter. Dusty slaps him in the face again. Like Dubon is really better than Chas in CF. What a joke. Chas is treated like trash.

    .290
    .304
    .287
    .243

Above are the on base percentages for the Astros 6-9 hitters in the line up tonight.

The OPS+ are not pretty either.......

    75
    86
    79
    52

I am going to speculate that the Astros yet again struggle to score.

Not sure why Diaz (116) and Meyers (96) get to sit on the bench and rot when you roll out bottom of the order garbage like this.

Something has to give for the Astros to win - either Abreu starts hitting like a real #5-6 hitter or Diaz plays every game....

The Astros can afford 2 hitters that are bad to at the bottom of the order, but not 4.
