-Astros are 47-31 (since starting the season 17-18) for .602 winning % -Astros are 15 games above .500 and in the drivers seat for the wild card (and still within reach of the division) -Astros know how to win in the playoffs, while teams like Balt and Texas have no clue how their players will perform when the pressure of Sept and Oct is on. Astros will put their best lineup (minus Maldy) when October arrives as Dusty believes in rest for his players during the regular season. Too many teams go balls out just to get to the playoffs and then sputter when it counts. Like it or not this is his style of play and if it leads to another LCS at least then it works. I hate losing ground (especially when we were so close to breaking through) but August is a tough stretch to do much more than break even. By October we will be in the playoffs, and no team will want to face us.
For all those that were short changing the Orioles, welcome to reality. This is the best team in the AL and it may not even be close with the Rangers' injuries to 2 key players. Rays are done after the McClanahan news. Blue Jays like us have the "potential" to make hay in the playoffs. But if I had to guess it's Rangers vs. Orioles in the ALCS.
