let's keep death scenarios out of the discussion. I wish Crane and Dana would make the lineups everyday for Dusty and tell him to just swallow it whole. There.
Huge loss and the AL is wide freakin open. C'mon man let's freakin go, make a push and beat everyone else's asses.
Pressly is potentially in the midst of his longest rest this season besides the All-Star break --- 3 games and counting. He's had two stretches of 4 games earlier this year -- once in June and once in May -- and is on pace for his second most GP (72) of his career. Coincidentally (or maybe not), his most GP (77) was when the Astros abused him in 2018 after they traded for him. Coincidently (or maybe not), Ryan missed 2 months the following season with a knee injury. Astros need to get it together quickly. Pitching has carried us far more than the offense this season and chances are the guys who've been pulling the weight won't have ability to keep pulling it they're getting abused. Both Maton and Neris have regressed recently. Some of that is overachieving earlier this season, but some has to be overuse. If only there was a way to maximize our offense to help avoid high leverage.
Not really going to complain about the lineup. Other than Maldy, which was going to happen it is fine. Chas has started 24 of the last 25 games, so not an unreasonable day off. I'd bet tomorrow we see Chas back in CF, but won't see Diaz. Thursday will be the day that Singleton, Kessinger & Dubon find themselves in the lineup, but at least Diaz will catch that one.
I went to the 4th, 5th, & 6th games ever played at Oriole Park at Camden Yards way back in the early 90s. Magnificent park. The Ripken Orioles were playing The Tigers (Glenn Davis was playing 1B). All that reminiscing aside, I hope the Stros stomp a footprint in their azzes. Would’ve liked Verlander on the mound for this series for the sweep, but since it’s Framber, Javier, Brown, I’ll take 2 out of 3
Well, the last time he pitched the Astros were winning 7-3. So, I’m not sure the offense hitting will stop Dusty from running him into the ground.
Remember the Neris appearance vs SEA while we were down 9-1 ??.. I recall Neris had "only" pitched 3x in 5 days before that happened. He pitched the followed day too and escaped bases loaded, no outs. That brought his grand total to 5x in 7 days.
cool how we sit a player with a .900 OPS I may have sold you a hot dog. I was a vendor during the inaugural season. I was 19. Davis got the first Oriole hit at CY. Seeing eye single.
