For all the btching about election integrity from the maga folks, how come those same folks never point out how bad gerrymandering is in some states?

Trump is acting like a man who wants to be remanded to custody. That’s a bold strategy, Cotton.

 

It’s such an obvious strategy at this point that I don’t know that anyone will buy it that isn’t already drinking the cool aid.

I mean his whole strategy revolves around winning the election so he can have the charges dropped. From the get go he never tried to win in the courts. He’s trying to win by turning America into a dictatorship ala Germany in the late 1930’s.

Does that strategy work with independents in swing states next November just because he’s been given a gag order and sent home on home confinement or maybe even been in jail in solitary confinement with secret service protection??? Do independent voters really care that much about him or does he think Dem voters are going to turn on Biden when it’s so obvious that he did this to himself and Biden has nothing to do with the prosecution??

I think Trump could possibly win in November regardless. It’s always going to be tight with the right so animated and in serious need of deprograming from the years of propaganda brain washing from the media. Trump could change his name to Donald Hitler and 38% of American voters would vote for him.

However the election will be won by swing voters and Dem turnout in Michigan, Wisconsin, Atlanta turnout, Arizona, Virginia, Nevada, and maybe even North Carolina. Are those voters energized on issues like women’s rights, voting rights, etc. to come out in the same numbers they did in 2020 and maybe a bit more?

I do think voters in those districts care about democracy and will show up to vote if the case is made by Biden that there is an existential threat of Trump running to become a dictator just so he can escape Justice. Trump writes those ads for Biden every day.

So long story short… Trump is a fool who is his worst enemy but he could get lucky and become a dictator if independent voters are lazy next year.

 

In all honesty, possibly true. Actually being remanded would be a huge boost to his MAGA base.

 

If remanded, Trump might actually make time and visit with the other remanded J6 defendants.

But the base is with him regardless. He has to be making a play for the election if this strategy is to be successful. He already is a lock for the R nomination. How are independent voters in swing states going to view him in a more sympathetic fashion and view Biden in a more negative fashion?

The fact is the judge and Smith aren’t going to so easily take the bait imo. I think they’ll both move methodically and there’s a reason why the judge excused Trump from the hearing on the 11th. They want clear cut terms negotiated for a protective order that is negotiated by Trumps lawyers where they are able to get the power themselves in the case pulled away from Trump. That way if there’s a break in strategy on team Trump he’ll lose counsel and have to rely on crack pot lawyers to go to trial. Which I’m sure Jack Smith would be delighted to see which would make this so much more easy for the public to see in broad daylight.

Jack Smith and the Judge aren’t taking the bait. I think they’ll take their time on a very fair protective order negotiated by team Trump so it can be their problem when Trump inevitably lashes out.

 

Trump could possibly win. The polls are close and Biden still has some pretty strong negative. A huge issue will be how the economy is then. I don’t think we get Trump will win though.

We saw in the 2022 election a rejection of MAGA candidates who ran in they the last election was stolen and tied themselves closely to Trump. Most independents voters seemed ver turned off by the MAGA rhetoric and they the indictments do erode support among those groups.

Also the abortion issue will continue to hobble Republicans especially if in 2024 there are state ballot measures in abortion.
