Well Baltimore has a fantastic team. They are special. Ahead of schedule for sure. They don’t have an ace in the rotation but they do have a bunch of 2’s and 3’s. Their catcher is a special player. This might be the last year that we can take them out in the playoffs for a while. That may have already passed. We shall see. and we need to just make the damn playoffs lol
The Orioles remind me of the year that Houston was an up-and-coming team, and I believe we lost to the Royals in the playoffs if I remember right. also, I’m not particularly worried about Texas. Now with JV back, they are still quite a few games to go, and I think that we have a hot streak in us coming very soon.
Absolutely. Gotta beat those teams. Hopefully Texas ****ing falls off a cliff and we keep on the winning train. It got derailed this series.
Still a lot of baseball left. If the Astros can either take the division lead or be within 1.5 games of the Rangers going into September we’ll be in good shape IMO. I’d prefer we win the DIV
Angel Hernandez looks to **** somebody over every game. Today he didn't get it. I think he should be replaced by Diaz since they're not going to let him catch.
yes they are an up and coming young team like we were that year. Except that we were never 27 games over .500 in early august and smashing everyone in sight that year.
You could have posted "Angel Hernandez is a ****ing embarassment", and then posted: and the 2nd one would be infintesimally less true.
Astros will catch the Rangers again. It's been written. And Orioles and Rangers have no experience in the playoffs. It's always hard to beat a battle tested team when it matters most, and the Astros are that team.
But unions can’t purely guarantee high profile positions for life if there is gross incompetence. It’s in their best interest to protect their craft/profession, but every game they force Angel Hernandez on leads to more and more evidence that an automatic balls/strikes system is vastly necessary. If they could just secure the best scorecard umps to call every game, maybe they keep the ABS system out of baseball just a little longer.
Abreu should definitely DH more. His defense is suspect and Diaz hits better when he's in the field. Jose needs to play better, otherwise he's a 3-year albatross.
If Baltimore and Tampa end up with the best records and we win the AL west, is it those two teams that get the byes or would it be the winner of the AL East and AL west?
Abreu has also played more games and hits in a more premium RBI spot than Pena. Peña has been bad and Abreu has been even worse. Funny how 2 posters could misinterpret the context.
So what's everyone's reaction to our best starter relegated to long relief and replaced by someone who won't get their ERA under 5 by season's end?
