I see it more as playing favorites at the cost of better players even to the detriment of respective favorites. Bonds and Kent feud could have played out differently in that Kent didn't have to have leave if Baker didnt favor Bonds.

Now the vendettas have gone from conjecture… to theoretical/expected vendettas outcomes?

Also, kudos for again bringing up more obscure history. You could have at least figured something in the past 20 years?

So the most notable feud during his career involving two all stars including former MVPs too obscure? Got it.

20+ years ago? And nobody really blamed Dusty as the cause for it? And nobody really remembers anything or gave two ***** about it?

    Yeah, thats obscure AF.

When Ausmus looks like Piazza compared to Maldy... and that's the option Dusty goes with... it is a problem. When Mike Hampton, Brandon Backe, Collin McHugh can outperform Maldy with the bat...

To be fair, Chas is a special guy.

When Mitch Melusky is still one of the greatest hitting catchers in Astros history… and he was thrown off the team because of how pitchers hated pitching to him… says a lot about the position requirements as well.

(Thought you’d appreciated that obscure reference from a nondescript Astros era.. must have been your formidable years).

Mitch Meluskey also couldn't catch and was as obnoxious as AJ Pierzynski. Yainer is neither of those.

Fielding between 2 MVP's is hardly obscure, even if it was 29 years ago.

Was it because of a Dusty personal vendetta? Even if he is holding vendettas here, where is the feud between players? If anything, people claim he doesn’t rest or provide similar initiatives for his stud players (Altuve, Bregman, Alvarez, Tucker all play all the time… when they’re not nursing injuries).

Sorry, I don’t think the two situations are comparable.

I thought Mitches shoulder kept giving him issues and that’s why he was let go

He was an a-hole apparently. Biggio and Bagwell wanted him off the team. Phil Nevin apparently was also hated.

Would Angel be less bad of Maldy wasn't bottom 5 in framing?

I dont believe it was a vendetta. It was Dusty coosing sides in the fued and not surprisingly he chose Bonds over Kemp. I probably would've made the same decision, although it was the wrong decision. IMHO

Completely non applicable… but fun trip down memory lane. Jeff Kent was an *******. Bonds was an *******. Not sure there’s ever a clear pick between those two.

    I enjoy history, you dont?

Kent played on a lot of winning teams.

If Albert Pujols can give up starting first every day due to physical decline, why can't Maldy?

I have been told straight out that it is personal with Chas by someone they would know.

Not to beat a dead horse, but if Astros pitching gave up 12 walks in a game caught by Diaz I’m not sure he’d ever start again.
