Dusty won the power battle against Click due to Crane's interference and now Dusty is going un-checked because Dana Brown is a rook GM.
It is funny (but sad) how resigned and powerless Dana sounds when he’s asked about Dusty’s dumbass decision making.
Dusty is riding the coattails of an insanely talented 2022 team that was red hot in the playoffs. Even Dusty's incompetence couldn't foul that up. The 2023 Astros do not have the same talent edge over the field. We need a competent manager. It's not Dusty. Here is a sample lineup that I'd imagine most fans would fully support -- use this for 75% of games! Altuve - 2B McCormick - CF Alvarez - DH Bregman - 3B Tucker - RF Abreu - 1B Diaz - C Pena - SS Dubon - LF Bullpen for 7-8-9 with the lead: Neris, B Abreu, Pressly
We all knew who Dusty was and was going to be last year. If your upset that Dusty is managing, there is a different guy to blame for that. If your expecting Dusty to be something else other than Dusty, then you need a med check.
I’d go with Meyers in Cf and McCormick in left and I feel pretty strongly about that, but yeah- if we did your everyday that would make me very happy.
I wouldn't go that far. The path may be more difficult, but we really wont know how this is going to look until we get there. I got mad today, reading about Dusty. While some of it isn't fair and is overblown, much of it is deserved also. I found myself basically wanting Dusty to be something other than Dusty, and that isn't fair either.
I know who Dusty is and will always be, that's why I was hoping last season was his last. I was disappointed he didn't retire after getting his WS.
Dusty has 3 places he can put Diaz in the lineup-catcher, DH or 1B. He should be playing everyday even if it means switching between those positions. That he wasn't playing 1B today when he rested Jose is illogical. Ruining JV's return game against the Yanks was so disappointing.
There is NO NEED to separate Yordan and Tucker Tucker has the 5th best OPS vs LHP in mlb. Dusty separates those two because he doesn’t want the opposition “to be able to” put in a lefty to face them both He doesn’t get it
That's because he obviously doesn't use analytics. It's downright painful. It truly is the old stubborn man. Mean while the Astros are close to being out of the playoffs seeding while he seniles his way through the season.
