You can't convince "the best young talent" to be on a practice squad, so you get the best who are desperate for attention.

Only guys with something to prove could be swayed by that.... guys that underperformed or didn't play due to injury. Quality players have nothing to prove by being on a practice squad.
If a true young stud doesn't think he can prove something against the real USA team of superior players then there goes the superstar/best mentality for all those who declined that you feel are superior and have nothing to prove after their second or fourth season in Maybe if they were All NBA team accomplished they could maybe get away with it, and they still should be game to compete even with that accolade
