He’s going to the NL (and not Atlanta or LA) and not Baltimore/Texas

Athletic reported Mets are paying a significant portion of the remaining two years - third year vested so they are in clear I think.

Keeping all 3 of Julks/Meyers/McCormick seems a little redundant, but they've filled their biggest concerns without moving any of them. Will be interesting to see if they make any other moves.

I appreciate the farm system but there is an opportunity to get a back to back ring here. There’s no question this was a great trade.

Can Arrighetti be the 2023 version of Hunter Brown?

We should could use another big arm in the pen.

Look at the potential options the Astros have with starters in the rotation and pen in 2024!

JV, Valdez, Javier, Brown, France, Urquidy, Garcia,LMJ, Arrighetti

One more reliever and I might have a problem lasting longer than 4 hours that will need medical attention....

Selling low on Garcia would be a mistake, IMO

Time to move Lance to the bullpen. His trade value is at an all-time low, and a healthy Lance is the best Lance.

For those whining about Gilbert, we have 2 years of Tuck and McCormick is here a lot longer if he's legit.

They have 2 years to develop a corner outfielder or sign one if Tucker leaves.

    Not a big deal....

depends on the return obviously, but i dont see where these guys fit in next year regardless. maybe shedding lance and/or montero salary can increase our chances of re-upping tucker. would be useful to offload either of their salaries anyhow.

The other thing that bugs me is that same package would have probably landed Cease (why would the Sox turn down that deal)
Okay, this makes me feel much better.

That's a lot of money. If Crane utilizes the pocket cash to keep adding over the LT the next 2 seasons, I will have zero issues with this trade.

If he operates under the LT as if we're paying Verlander full price, that's a Tilman Fertitta move. If we win another chip he can do whatever the f**k he wants with the money.

If the Mets are eating $54M this is a fair deal. Flags fly forever.
