Would have rather it been Clifford but had to give them something and not Brown and Chas is huge

Can't be afraid to trade prospects... but, if you wanted Verlander you should have just signed him in the off season. I need to see how much the Mets are paying of his salary, but for Gilbert it needs to be a lot.

If we're sending out Gilbert the Mets are covering a significant portion of his salary, or at least they should be.

You have to make moves in the now, you can't change choices in the past. Guys got hurt, so now we need pitching.

No more sniveling about not going after it "while the window is open". We had no idea what injuries we'd have this year so holding onto JV wasn't likely but we're in a very diffrent place now and as much as I liked Gilbert he's stil just a prospect. Again, they're going for it, ballsy and I like it. and we keep Chas.

There’s no maybe about it. The Mets are definitely covering his salary and I bet it’s to the tune of 25 or 30M.

I thought Gilbert and Lee could've bagged Cease and Roberts.

Chas's emergence had to make Gilbert tradable a viable option to Brown.

WAIT... GILBERT AND CLIFFORD? Okay, they Mets better be paying that whole damn salary.

    For real.

Now that Gilbert is gone, Astros have no choice but to extend tucker or trade him in the future.
