Straw had a slightly above average bat with Cleveland in his trade year but has been Maldonado since then -- and has been worse overall with Cleveland than Houston. His glove was golden last year though, so at least there's that.

3 miscommunications in the OF, an error, and two bad jumps on hard hit liners has destroyed his defensive value this year.

 

He was a good GM for the Astros. It was unfortunate he had conflict with Crane.

Other than the whole jake Meyers ordeal, yes, the org took him for granted.

 

Which means bigger credit to Diaz since catcher is the least offensive position
