Baker got even more sadder with another divisional team making a move.

That’s it, no more games until after the trade deadline. Tonight could get wild late into the night. Then probably a lull until tomorrow afternoon.

I don’t know how much weight can be put into this, but I would love having JV in Hunter Browns ear for the next 2+ years. JV has more pitching knowledge then most teams pitching coaches.

Every 76 years is too much for Stanek

I've seen enough. We can include Stanek in a trade now, along with Maldy and Montero

    They are trying.

Baker…. Brown…. Crane…. They are all tired of the Montero/Stanek show in 2023. They aren’t bad - they have been horrendous when just being bad would be sufficient (like tonight).

Stanek and Montero very well could have sub 2.00 eras next year but they are done as viable options in 2023.

I loved Baker putting pressure on Brown… made his view on the topic clear.

Unpopular opinion but Montero appears to have righted the ship a bit.

i don't understand tweets like this, which ignore the biggest variable in the trilateral negotiation, which is verlander's willingness to waive for houston but not LA.

It's all about his no trade clause. If he is Houston or bust then the Mets have to decide if keeping his contract is worth it for them or do they get what they can get.

Verlander is about Verlander. Unless something changes, he leads by example but isn’t going to spend a lot of time working with others.

He is a professional, sets an example with his hard work and consistency on and off the field. That’s why so many players and the manager went to bat for him and protected him in the playoffs last year.

However he is like Nolan Ryan - he doesn’t hold class.

If you want Verlander back you might want to prepare yourself to give up Gilbert and Arrighetti. Hopefully the Mets eat a large chunk of the contract and/or possibly include another player.

I definitely feel like parting with those guys would be an overpay… but the reality is- the AL is wide open. We have a core in their prime and finally have everyone healthy enough to make a run, and are closer to taking first place than we’ve been in months. Everyone in Houston and all across baseball knows that this team becomes very very dangerous if we get a top of the rotation starter and Framber regains form. It will be interesting to see what happens within the next 17 hours or so.
