Obviously Crane is easily the most successful sports owner in Houston history But what makes me mad about not going into the dollars on this franchise 2. We have the 3rd highest average cost of going to a game in MLB according to a recent report There is zero reason to not go longer to extend Tucker and Framber Springer didn’t want to be here, and I almost get the same vibe from Cole I understand not going 10 years on Correa with the injuries But dude is making a mint and charging us out the a$$ because he knows he can Sign Tucker and Framer long term If he isn’t, I bet he thinks he is
If the line was .5 I would take the over, at 1.5 the under I think the reason we haven’t done anything yet is his sights are set on someone bigger and he is risking missing out on someone lesser to get his guy
Then you are stuck with Meyers/Dubon in CF and history tells us it would be more Dubon And Yordan would be blocked from playing any OF cause Soto would be LF He is a great offensive player but the fit ain’t great
There's always negotiation, but I'd have no quarrels about losing Chas for Soto if that was the final result.
They snag one at least. I could see two depending on price. If the Yankees sit this out along with the Red Sox, i like the odds.
BA is no way to rate a player, (unless this is 1950) especially in the minor leagues. But his BA in July is .277 He has an .816 OPS with 11 extra base hits and 18.3% K rate in July and hits better vs RHP than LHP. If the Astros don't trade him, Brown will be under pressure to show why, especially if they don't bring in an Impact player. If they don't bring in a bat, he may be the best option to improve the lineup vs RHP.
That would be a good problem to have, and one you wouldn't question until it actually happened. Soto DHing when Alvy in LF, and vice versa. Also Tucker does have a few games in CF. Not ideal but for a year would test it
True, July was better, but .277 in AA is not a path to the majors. The Astros wouldn't need to bring him up at all to explain anything. He won't sniff the majors until next year at earliest
First of all, Dubon has started 77 games at 1b, 2b, SS, and LF. That means Dusty has had 29 chances to start him in CF and only has once. Meyers has started 68 games in CF. So what makes you think Dusty will start Dubon over Meyers in CF? And Soto plays LF and RF and can DH. The 3 of them could share the 3 spots and be 3 of the top 10 hitters in MLB. LF: Soto 100g Yordan 62g RF: Tucker 150g Soto 12g DH: Yordan 100g Soto 50g Tucker 12g
