It may seem like an overpay, but what was Lee going to do for us this year? Next year? Maybe backup Diaz. Graveman is an immediate impact to our bull pen and plus teammate for the clubhouse. Oh, and we have him next year at $8M. Personally this seems like a smart move by Dana. @Nook insight on how our evaluators feel about Lee tied the bow on this deal for me. Alright DB, keep working baby we need some more help!
Potentially a high leverage arm under control beyond this year. Has some issues with walls but has had success before. Teams are less concerned with just ERA and FIP with relief pitchers, they want raw stuff for the pen in the playoffs.
Either all 3 teams bring in gm that overpay or the fanbase which remains constant, over values outgoing talent
Gotta love the irony in having a fan base that yearns for trades/upgrades yet also complains when it happens
Right. It’s like we make moves that are necessary and hopefully more to come. Then you have: But, but, I wanted Ohtani for Meyers, Arrighetti and a 3rd round pick then flip two 2nd round picks for Hader and Snell and maybe throw in Julks to sweeten the deal!
Astros waiting on market values to be set. Especially with starting pitching. They want to add a starter and reliever but have decided they won’t over pay for a marginal improvement. Graveman deal done because they at a minimum needed a quality reliever and did not want to be stuck without one. Brown still would like a left handed bat.
Eloy Jimenez? Not left handed but has pop and avg decent LFer I think k Brandon Donovan can Play LF aswell even a Lamont Wade Jr wouldn't be bad. Key would be Donovan since he plays every where
