McTaggart said his sentiment taken from hearing Brown after today's trade was the Astros were done making trades.
Starting pitching is going to be expensive but this team doesn't have much of a chance unless they get starting pitching help imo.
Dana Brown: (Graveman) … “He can pitch back to back days.” (Korey Lee) “When you get good talent, you have to give up talent as well. He was a prospect we felt was behind Diaz for next year. Felt we had depth there. Knew we had to do something with the bullpen and Graveman was a good piece and had to part with a good player.” (Have trade talks escalated?) Got busy today. A lot of text messages and phone calls. Definitely sped up a little bit. (LH bat/Brantley) We’re starting to amp him up. This is where he felt discomfort before. Now he’s going through it and pain free for the most part. We added to the pen because we thought that was a bigger need. We’re still not out,. If there’s a LH bat we can acquire, we’ll go after it. Hopefully Michael will come back just as Alvarez and Altuve came back. (Pool of potential starting pitchers) We have so many teams still in it. Guys inside of 5 games feel good about it and are holding onto their players. Maybe by Monday things can change but there’s not a whole lot of starters going around. (Pressure?) There’s big time pressure. Our window is open. We always have an open window. We want to continue to make this sustainable. (Percentage of text/calls?) You get started with texts to get the thing moving then followed up by phone calls.
