    welcome home

Here's hoping that he can at least pretend he wants to be here this time around.

Heavy price for 1.5 years of a setup man making free agent money.

Astros officially gonna have to do something at catcher next year.

He has kind of sucked this year. Any reason why?

I bet they upgrade from Maldy and sign someone like Zunino to pair with Diaz. Doubt they wanted to roll with two inexperienced catchers next season.

Diaz and cheap veteran catcher next year. Or Salazar. Anyone but Maldy.

I was hoping Kory Lee would’ve been part of a package to bring back a star pitcher. Instead we get a decent BP arm - feels like an expensive trade for the Astros.

Grandal and Garver are the only 2 free agents who would be meaningfully better than Salazar.

This BBS would whine about Zunino almost as much as they do about Maldonado.

Maybe Brown's friendship with Braves GM can allow him to trade for D’Arnaud???

I like it a lot. For some reason I thought his ERA was lower than 3.48.

I have no problem with this trade. Especially since it's not a rental (Graveman signed at a reasonable 8 mil for next yr). Plus he's behind Pressly/Abreu/Neris in the pecking order and gives us more depth in the pen.

Graveman had a 2.77 ERA through July 7th, He had one bad game of allowing 3 runs in an inning to kick that up recently.

They probably would, but Zunino at least knows how to catch.

I don’t really care about his ERA. I was referencing his FIP and xERA. Seems like his GB rate is sharply down this season so his mediocre peripherals are shining through more this year.
