I certainly don’t agree with much of his politics and I think many of his moves have led to the divisiveness and distrust in this country. He is a person with a family that loves him. Hopefully this isn’t too bad and he retires peacefully.

If Feinstein won't retire, it'd have to be worse than purple looking hands to make him go.

I do feel bad for him personally.

We need term limits we can't have these walking fossils up there making policy - we need term limits and age limits.

    House - 4 terms max - 8 years
    Senate - 2 terms max - 12 years
    SC - 1 term = 14 years
    President 2 terms 8 years.

No one can start any term of office after the age of 67.

We can't have McConnel stroking, Feinstien dribbling, and Grasserly seeing pink elephants everywhere.

Did Doctor Frankenstein come back from the dead and create this fellow? I'd feel sorrier for the guy if he wasn't frightening me half to death. Good grief!

That's just part of being very old. Skin gets thin and you bruise easily.

Voters are not the problem; voting is the problem. Make it as easy as using an iPhone and a selection based on preference, not team - something like RCV (Ranked-Choice Voting).

I mentioned this on a different thread, but hoping he is well. I can disagree on political positions but still think well of the person. And noteworthy that Biden called him to check up on him. Since as fellow senators I suspect they had a good relationship outside of the politics.

Come on, NBC. An 81-yr-old tripped and fell -- really? That's breaking (zing) news?

And on humor, I think it's about all we have left. I don't dispute those who say this "isn't funny," that's fine, but humor in its very nature is about treading the inappropriate or unexpected, and I do enjoy some of the jokes. They don't seem especially mean, especially given the guy's many decades of robotic and merciless public speaking.

I do hope he's okay and that every public servant of his vintage can consider a comfortable path to retirement.

Can you imagine one day where we will be able to vote simply by logging onto an app on your phone, we would get such a better response from all voters. We can do AI, put a man into space, hell I can buy a car online and finance it to and we can't get a secure functioning app? Oh well, I still like to go down to the library and stand in line to fill out a paper ballot, as long as I can vote early I am good for now but one day we will have the technology

I'm so afraid of hacks that I don't mind the improving the manual mechanical process.

We live in a two party system, both with machines that make it hard for third parties and new comers to rise up.

They're responsible for the grotesque primary system that weeds out moderates early on.

A democracy is considered 51% winner takes all. Primary process is similar. Game that and you only need 26%. Party leaders make the rules and can add layers to infinitum, cherry picking and gate keeping every step of the way.

Then add incumbent favorability, gerrymandering, arcane registration rules, unlimited out of state funding, etc... and the amount of votes needed for the party's favorites is far less.

That's a big reason why we get degenerates and circus rejects that skew outside opinion polling for national issues. Idiocracy is definitely another tho...
