    To follow up on @dumbartonbass post one of Trump’s defenses is that he actually believed he won the election and as such his actions were what he saw as proper to correct fraud. It’s a flawed argument for a few reasons but in some circles it does hold traction at least rhetorically. This is why the J6 committee spent time presenting evidence that Trump knew he lost.

    Rioter who used Trump flag to smash window near where Ashli Babbitt was shot convicted on nine counts

    A federal judge convicted a Kentucky man on nine counts Wednesday for smashing a window in a door inside the U.S. Capitol just feet away from where Ashli Babbitt was shot and killed.

    Chad Barrett Jones, of Mount Washington, Kentucky, was convicted by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon of two felony counts of civil disorder and obstruction of an official proceeding and seven other misdemeanor counts.
