2022 disagrees I could think of a few . . . Atlanta, Texas, Giants, Baltimore. He's a hired gun at this point. I'd think if the team is in contention, he'd be happy to squat in a hotel for three months. I don't think we'll be getting a discount. That said, not sure the teams above will want to bury themselves in his contract. It all depends on how much Cohen wants to pay down JV's salary.
I know it's probably not true, and easily verifiable, but I feel like the Dodgers and Red Sox just swap players on a yearly basis every deadline. It's like watching a brother and sister being too affectionate with each other.....you know it's technically allowed, and there isn't anything inherently wrong with it, but it just feels gross.
I would be shocked if he agreed to go to Baltimore. He lives in NY and has lived in Detroit and Houston. His wife has lived in LA in the past. His wife’s family is from Michigan and FL. My guess is that if NY decides to trade him they will call the Dodgers, Astros, and Yankees and let them bid to see who gets him. Atlanta may also get a chance.
How does it make any sense to put unproven minor leaguers (Gilbert, Clifford) in the same bracket at wildly underpaid stars (Tucker, Chas)? Gilbert and Clifford may be highly rated, but they are still unproven. Kyle Tucker and Chas McCormick are proven stars in this league.
Those buckets are just guys I wouldn’t think I’d be at all likely to find a deal in the market that matches what I think those guys values are worth to the astros, that’s it. The unproven guys I have there are because I really like them and don’t think anyone else would value at the level I do. Just one man’s opinion. Basically what I’m saying is that I think Gilbert and Clifford are your ticket and Chas replacements, need be treated as such, and only moved for something extremely valuable.

The point is actually winning the championship. Chas and Tucker aren't going anywhere for the years in which our championship window is open. Having MLB ready OF languish in the minors doesn't help us keep the window open, nor does it help us win in said window. Trading them helps us win now, while our highly touted younger OF prospects like Baez keep our window open.
Tucker has 2.5 years left. Clifford is 19. There are 3 Of positions to play at a time and we don’t have a Lf that doesn’t more or less suck. There are plenty of room for all those guys to remain in the organization without anyone languishing. You could have made the same rationale to trade tucker. Luhnow made him untouchable for a reason. I suggest that Gilbert and Clifford should be more or less the same.
It'll never happen but thescore had 5 trades we want to see and 1 was Paul Goldschmidt and Jojo Romero for Jake Meyers, Spencer Arrighetti, Miguel Ullola, and Colton Gordon. Who says no? I'm guessing Cardinals although I have no idea if Ullola or Gordon are legit prospects.
Exactly. Peña isn't Pat Listach Part II. He is overcorrecting some of his bad tendencies from last year.
Ideal batters: Verdugo, Bellinger or Thomas One of these three to get in LF doesn't matter which one just one. Yordan DHs the rest of the year gets some spot starts in LF. If Brantley gets back, mostlikly he won't but if he does then he just can rotate at DH and 1B Relief Pitchers: Hader, Finnigan, Sewald, Graveman, Holton, Foley, Hernandez, Raley, Robertson, Alzolay, Debnar, Moreta, Suter and Wilson We need two of these guys doesn't matter who but two. We are beating the crap out of Pressley, Maton, Abreu and Neris. All of whom are at or above 45 appearances. Stanek, Martinez, Montero and Kuhnel aren't cutting it and slowly losing the faith of the Astros in General. Starting Pitching Snell, Stroman, Cease, Giollito, Lorenzen, Rodriguez, Keller, Sears, Montgomery or Flaherty We only need one. I didn't add Verlander or Mad Max . Just don't see them as fits. Nor do I see the Mets eating enough money to do so on either. Pick your poison. Each one is different with what ever type of pitching you want.
