For all we know, his "gut" told him to wait a bit longer. You might as well be trying to figure out how getting the live chicken was going to help take fear from bats as to try and figure out the decisions Dusty makes.
I don't think he would make that move without agreement from Dusty. You don't want to have to make other moves to make room for Altuve and Yordan till Dusty is willing to play them.
If you know Dusty isn’t going to use them, if he has already told you that, why would you activate them and take other players off the roster? That’s incredibly silly
