There's a big difference between sulking and quitting on your team.

You mean like Tmac and Harden did?

For the record Porter NEVER quit on his team - he played the first half, had a very good half, was injured, and told he was not going back in, was frustrated and went home - and apologized.

But don't let the facts get in your way of being a hater.

No. Going home during half time is quitting. I don’t remember him getting injured in that game. He’s known for faking an injury after a bad play. But even if he’s indeed injured, you either rest on the bench, or get checked out in the locker room. You don’t just go home just because you’re frustrated. If that’s not quitting, I don’t know what is.

If he didn’t do anything wrong, why did he need to apologize?

I mean I can kind of understand if you say past is past and let’s not dwell on his previous incidents. I’m fine with that. But to try to brush it off and say it’s a non issue is complete and utter BS.

Yep, Porter made a mistake 2 years and seasons ago.....big ****ing deal....he apologized, the org accepted it. Good thing we aren't all judged by our worst moments.....

Hakeem slapped Maxwell in the locker room at halftime.....BTW.

He was still not playing in the 2nd half due to the injury...and was singled out by Lucas after playing an amazing first half.....guess Lucas overstepped ....and BTW was not brought back by IME.....for a reason.

Keep on hating though, that is what you do....

To be fair, KPJ just realized that once the ball was in Alpi's hands, something good was going to happen, and that his services were no longer needed on the play. ;)

He didn't QUIT, he left AFTER being told he played poorly but he was already OUT for the 2nd half because of an injury he played through in the first half.

    Comprende?

    https://www.espn.com/nba/recap/_/gameId/401360362

" Kevin Porter Jr. left the game in the third quarter with a thigh injury."

Him leaving was still a mistake....

And Lucas was full of crap, KPJ played well in that first half.

BTW - want to talk about someone that quit on the team, John Lucas quit on the Rockets with his cocaine habit, and let a championship team down with very few guards on the roster after him, Lew Lloyd and Wiggins all got suspended...for coke. I guess if we can forgive Lucas we can forgive KPJ for getting upset and going home (That was unprofessional) - I mean.....you guys wouldn't want to be hypocrites.....after all.

Most of you are probably too young to know that, I'll bet.

I agree with you DD, and I've noted before how Porter did well in that
    first half stat-wise.

Wood and Porter stunk it up the prior game and Wood continued
that crappiness. I'm of the belief that Lucas grouped KPj in with
the Wood tongue lashing at halftime. A young kid with a troubled
past and growing up without his dad tends to take that shouting
    wrong. And get defensive.

When talking about mistakes....us older people make mistakes as well.
Did Lucas blast KPj the previous game when KPj did poorly?
That's the time when the 18 year old mentality of KPj needed to be
    reprimanded.....not two days later.

Puppy makes pee pee on the carpet.....you rub their nose in it fast; not two
days later. Puppy has no idea why it's being disciplined days later.

People here assume KPj at age 19 or 20 with a 16 or 17 year old mentality
will always be a 16 or 17 year old mentality. Unforgiving.

Not understanding that as KPj grows older....so will his mentality.
His now 23 year old body probably has a 21 year old mentality
now. Many kids make mistakes as teens and turn their lives around.
    Not all; but many can.

Both KPj and Lucas worked things out and it's water under the bridge
to me. I'm more understanding than others because I've worked
with troubled kids. No fathers, and their moms let them get away
with anything. Many go into the military and find boundaries
and rules that change their lives...for the better. Sometimes.

Sometimes they get dishonorable discharge from the military.
Everyone is different. NBA salary is a good incentive though.

He needs to get in the Rico Hines against real competition. These are fake workouts to pump your value.

That's the same crap that Harden & CP3 got sideways with each other about. That's a JH13 Houston move. But KPJ doesn't have the skins on the wall to pull that with Ime. He does that this year he'll be on his way out of town.
