I was in for $20. I believe the bet was that Trump would not win the Republican nomination. It's not looking good for me at the moment, but there are conditions for a lot of volatility in the coming year, so who knows.

There's no conditions that can occur that will eliminate him. No trial is happening before the primary and even if he gets convicted he can run from prison.

I just don't understand how you folks don't see the writing on the wall. Hes fighting for his freedom and he's not going trust anyone else to pardon him.

He will get the nomination at all costs and tear the country down during the general. This is trump

Right. It's weird to me that there is any denial over this still. The only thing that will keep him from the nomination is death.

These people just don't get it. I've gambled worth 40k with conservatives colleagues of my who were delusional after the midterms that DeSantis was going win. Such easy money

They don't get it. The GOP base is @Commodore . They don't give a **** about policy. They wanna own the libs and only trump can do that successfully

The Green Book movie comes to mind. You can play that piano for us, but you won't be eating in our restaurant, or staying in our hotels.

Correct. And instead of blaming trump, I blame the people that will vote for him.

Yes I do have a $25 tip jar bet. I think the odds look like I’ll lose that bet but I have no problem honoring it.

Not a single note has been cast yet in the GOP
Primaries and it’s still several months until then so let’s wait until someone actually has the nomination wrapped up before declaring victory.

    Yes, I'm sure. I don't wager.

I don't remember what exactly you guys were betting on. I only remember that he seemed more reasonable in how he made his arguments. You could be completely right, and he could be wrong, but I still have this feeling that his approach was more sensible. For example, "screaming" as you mentioned, isn't very sensible to me.

When we get to they point yes I will honor the bet. There is no reason to pay it though before the game has officially started.

I took the bet as a fun way to support Clutch. I don’t have much certainty that someone besides Trump will win the GOP nomination. All polls show he is in the driver seat for the nomination.

Stranger things have happened and at this time in 2007 it looked like the 2008 election would be Rudy Giuliani versus Hillary Clinton.

Remember that the polling after midterms when we took the bet had ron neck and neck with trump. It's when he was polling at his highest and everyone was jumping on his train. I knew from the beginning he was a con man.

Kudos for paying up. Respect to you

Keep in mind I didn’t bet specifically on Ron DeSantis. The bet is Trump versus the field. For I and others to win it just takes someone besides Trump.

I will agree at the moment that doesn’t seem likely but to quote one of my favorite philosophers. It’s hard to make predictions, especially about the future.

In case you thought I look down upon wager, I have no problem with wagering, it's just not a thing for me. I simply don't gamble or wager.

Right, Trump was always in the driver's seat. It's the sad reality. But he could drop dead tomorrow from a heart attack.
