Exactly ! We all have been waiting for Jalen (also the other young core) to have an elite head coach to boost who they are as a player .. we should not trade anyone till after we see a full season or 2 under Udoka

Somewhere in between. I am predicting a lot of improvement, but not enough to put himself in the all star conversation.

I'm really, really hoping for a jump. I was hoping for it in year 2 but didn't get it. Except I will say that I love how he got better at drawing fouls and am happy in general that he attacks the rim.

I now am ready for an efficiency jump. A defensive improvement would be nice too, but maybe asking for both in the same year is too greedy on my part.

A lot of minutes have to be cut back and depending on injuries to the veterans, sophomores, third year players.

Van Vleet was averaging over 36.5 minutes per game in Toronto, that is not going to happen here.

Brooks was about 29-30 mpg in Memphis which should stay the same.

I hope neither Jabari nor Green would average 33-34 minutes per game with hopefully Amen, Cam, Tari, Tate earning minutes.

Would also like to see KPJ at the 2.......in restricted minutes.

He will always have haters and naysayers just because of where he was picked in the draft, but I predict he will come out and have a more efficient year due to Ime getting him to have better shot selection. Which would be great even if his counting stats aren't that much better. 24/5/5 would be awesome.

However, if he doesn't grab that starting spot out of the gate, there is cause for concern with his development.

That's not really true, he's not KPJ, he doesn't face irrational criticism in an effort to prop up struggling draft picks, the criticism of Green is 100% due to poor performance. If he ever becomes a good player, everyone will love him.

Even if Jalen didn't improve and played candy crush all off season the swap from Silas to Ime raises my expectations. So, rise.

Coming from one of his biggest haters and naysayers... lol. Just had to take you seriously.

There is literally no player in the NBA that is universally loved.

Not really, there was a lot of hate from fans of other teams and casuals regarding his dry hump.....the Rocket fans were really just tame about it.

    The talent was always there.

Also due to his draft position. Given that a player one pick behind him has outperformed him early in their careers has added an extra element.

Isn't that what most had to do with Porter (whom you've supported) before he became decent on the court. You talk about effort and we all know that guy's effort has always been in question.

Green VS Porter's 2nd yr comp (advantage JG)
    https://stathead.com/basketball/ver...layer_id2=porteke02&p2yrfrom=2021&p2yrto=2021

Green's 2nd yr VS Porter's 3rd yr comp (advantage JG)
    https://stathead.com/basketball/ver...layer_id2=porteke02&p2yrfrom=2022&p2yrto=2022

    The numbers speak for themselves.

I think those willing to give it time like some did for Porter makes a ton of sense. Green's 2nd yr #'s were nearly identical to Booker's who is considered by most the best SG in the league.

    Green's 2nd yr VS Booker's (a wash)
    https://stathead.com/basketball/ver...layer_id2=greenja05&p2yrfrom=2023&p2yrto=2023

Yeah I think I'll give it another year, if not two, like Porter was given.

The fact that it intensified after he got a lot better... and most of the "hate" comes from superfans of a vastly inferior player suggests it was never about performance.... it was about blaming someone else for the shortcomings of highly drafted players.

I was talking about on court criticism, while he's always had elite athleticism that you refer to as "talent", the athleticism has never translated to quality performances on the court.

Making fun of him for being an effeminate guy who paints his fingernails and humps other guys isn't something I'm concerned with.

Man you guys just need to collectively organize and just in mass put bobby on ignore so he eventually is just ranting into the void. That's a much better situation than wasting half this message board's banter debating that dude.
