But hasn't it? A year delay for this trial. trump wanted a trial after the election (for obvious reasons) and this makes it much easier for that to happen. Scheduling the trial in a small courtroom is a more conservative location. And these following previous efforts to tilt the scales of justice in trump's favor. Now wonder trump "judge-shopped" for cannon... https://www.themarshallproject.org/2023/06/17/florida-federal-judge-donald-trump
alternative hypothesis https://althouse.blogspot.com/2023/07/the-federal-judge-overseeing-former.html From the comments over there: "She is sneaky, you have to give her that. By setting the date far beyond what the Justice Department wanted, but not so far to make it obvious, she is allowing Trump to run out the clock all the same."
Nah she did Jack Smith a favor. Now when he files the January 6 case in DC he can tell the DC circuit judge that another judge already set precedent on setting the trial before election. The new judge will be in DC so more favorable to prosecution and will set a earlier date than may. Doj is doing this beautifully. Jack Smith knows his ****. The case regarding docs doesn't matter as much as the insurrection Jan 6 case. That's the bug one with a good jury pool for the doj. Trump is ****ed
Which set's the standard for whether anyone needs to appear before grand juries. Every criminal can now think "I haven't done anything wrong" and refuse to appear.
Interesting... the thinking was cannon chose the location so that cameras wouldn't be in the courthouse. I would think the power of the evidence would work against trump...
You can tell Trump's scared now. LOL, the BS lies are catching up to him. He can't keep hiding behind his lies much longer and he knows it. Then you have the other two cowards Pence and Mr. Woke Woke who are too scared to speak the truth. Oh, and they know. I have no doubt.
Should Trump go to prison, Pence and DeSantis will be the first to act like they were tough and always supported holding him accountable.
I think that will depend on where polling is at in the Republican Party. If there is still strong support for Trump in the GOP and he is sent to prison I expect DeSantis and many other Elected Republicans will be decrying it as a miscarriage of Justice and saying they’ll pardon him if they become President.
