KPJ: Can someone explain to me why he has become Clutchfans favorite whipping boy?

A spot up shooter is very likely someone who rarely or never touches the ball.

That is not going to happen very often with someone who can play the secondary playmaker.

It is natural he only shoots that much.

Making him a specialist while he has the tools to play as an all-round guy, it is not easy.

 

It is about percentages, if we can play to his strengths and get a larger proportion of his shots through them his efficiency will sky rocket.

Same for all the Rockets - right now KPJ does every single thing better than Green, the question is if that remains, who starts?

Coaches who run meritocracies lose club houses quickly if they don't stick to their meritocracy mandates - as players are very much aware of whom is better.

Green will be the starter because he is a better fit in the short term and will be a better player than KPJ long term.

KPJ has been minutely better than two year younger Jalen even being given free reign.

Jalen will go ahead and surpass him this season and end the debate.

Let's be real, Green will be gifted the starting job based solely on draft position just like he has been gifted everything his entire career.

Despite that, this is the season where he actually has to produce, he'll finally need to prove that he deserves all that he's been just given without earning. If he has another season where he's as bad as he was last season, not only will he not get an extension, he'll be headed for the bench.

I don't think Udoka is going to sacrifice his job just to keep feeding Green and the high draft picks the way that Silas did.

 

Please share those graphs for each of their 2nd years. Let's get a legit comparison. That might debunk the "fans waiting on a 3rd year flip" theory. How many years did your boy take to become somewhat of a positive at least on individual stats? Come on Bob share their 2nd year graphs across the board.

This whole debate is stupid. Obviously green has to start before they need to decide if he’s gonna be worth paying or not. He’s far ahead of where kpj was at his point in his career so if jalen can’t be much better then kpj after this coming season then you know he’s a bust and you can move on, try to trade him.

What are the KPJ haters going to do as it gets harder and harder to pretend he is the prime hindrance to a championship? There seems to be some turning on Jalen Greene, but I think they will focus on Dillon Rooks or perhap

I find that far too many people take things far too seriously.

All of this is just basketball talk after all.

 

I just find it disingenuous to compare a 4th year player to a 2nd year player to fault the younger player and act like that's high level analysis. In normal situations the vets should always b a bit better than folks with less experience.

Like I said b4 green and kpj are not draft mates or peers. They entered the league at different time and should b judge accordingly.

Before the kpj stans bring up the amount games started/played difference between the two as justification for this weird a$$ behavior noticed how nobody compares the likes of Smith vs zion even though the game gap and age gap isn't that far apart. Just a feeble goal post moving attempt.

 

Why? Help me understand how a player who is worse, will be better long term.....than one that is better and cheaper, and is roughly the same age - both have at least 10 more years in the league.

If it is a meritocracy, he would lose the job to KPJ if KPJ is better - now it might be that because KPJ is a better creator we need him with the 2nd unit, and that will work for a while, but if KPJ remains better, and there is nothing that says Green will surpass him, he might, or he might not.

Then one will go.
