I'd hire him as our commentator than our coach.

After watching so many Rockets highlights lately, I'm so sick of hearing Ryan Hollins using the same punchlines when players do something.

THIS is the correct answer - JVG needs to be our Walt Frazier. A guy who’s voice is synonymous with the local telecast.

JVG probably won't adapt well to the modern NBA.

Ya I'd love him as our color guy.

It was a dark and dreary day. Stuck in doors, he was trapped between a rock and a hard place. His sould was slowly being sucked from his body as the lights flashed and the crowd cheered. He stared into space wondering when the end would come. . . (Continued)

I’m a fan but why would Udoka want JVG looking over his shoulder?

Get him on the broadcast but we're good on coaching

JVG did really well with the usa team a couple years back. Got the USA into the real tournament coaching castoff players and g-leaguers.

JVG as an assistant coach? Wow. I'm not sure why he'd even want to do it. Dude is a Houston legend. Going to Dallas would be a gut punch.

He coached with Team USA a few years ago. He said recently that reinvigorated his desire to coach again.

I'll wait for Stevie Franchise to begin his coaching career. He could be the new John Lucas

B+ coach, A+ commentator. Another network should put him back on the air.

But also, that’s NOT the NBA.

But also he didn’t leave his ESPN gig to go coaching - he was forced out.

Sure, and send a message to Udoka that there will be competition
as head coach. Nobody has their time guaranteed.

If Ime brought in JVG, that'd show he has brass balls. Fans would do a "Fire Ime / Promote JVG" at any extended time of struggle. Ime still needs to clean up his image, still has only coached 1 year. I dont know if bringing in more distraction would help. I wouldnt mind JVG, but the timing just isnt good here.

Love JVG as an analyst. Liked him as a coach, but his greatest strengths were also his greatest weaknesses. He coached a very organized, disciplined style, he took no BS, but he was also stubborn as a mule and his teams lacked creativity and adaptability.

He coached the US Team in FIBA Cup to Gold in 2017.

The game hasn’t passed him by, he has purposely remained very involved and he has changed his philosophies and adapted.

Having said that, he really should be President of Basketball Operations for the Rockets so he can oversee Raffy Stone and Ime Udoka. He also is pro coach and GM, so he would give Stone and Udoka room to do their jobs.
