    So Alabama is saying we don’t have to listen to the Supreme Court. Interesting for blue states.

    Well, that's interesting. Just ignoring federal court orders and continuing to cheat. So what's next? Can everyone now treat Supreme Court rulings as optional?

    Yep, Republicans are doing two things. Make it harder to vote. Cheat. In recent history, they have always been cheaters and never cared about election integrity.

    Their idea of law and order depends on the skin color/political party of the killer/criminal. Trumpers are simply defending against the crooked government, the radical left, or the black man they fear, and are heroes, but Democrats, blacks, and immigrants are corrupt, thugs and killers who need to be locked up.

    Ohio also did something similar when the OH Supreme Court ruled the their maps had to change. The OH legislature just went ahead and ignored their own Supreme Court. Of course the USSC shot down the idea of that state legislatures have absolute control of elections.

    Odd, professor turley does not apply this same concern to Alabama when they actually ignore the Supreme Court ruling against creating a second black majority voting district. Wonder why?

    Yes, when Ohio did it, my assumption was that they were betting on the Supreme Court ruling the ISL doctrine as valid. Alabama is much worse since they did it after the Supreme Court had already shut down that doctrine.

    They know they need to expand more majority white districts around Birmingham to take away from majority black districts around the state.

    Funny that one of Abbot’s excuses for not passing gun purchase restrictions in his debate with Beto was that the court wouldn’t allow it. I’m sure he’ll feel liberated now to encourage some common sense measures that the governed all agree with. Thanks Alabama.
