As I said Picollo the Manager has been told NO ONE IS UNTRADEABLE . Every can be moved. They need alot I mean a hole lot to even be relevant moving forward.
KC isn’t going to trade away the primary pieces of their burgeoning core. They’re in a weak division. They will trade Barlow and maybe some other fringey players and hope their young guys pan out.
I'd typically think Mark Canha would be worth a lot more than a middle reliever. I assumed leaning into pitches is a repeatable skill.
That’s funny. Peña isn’t in the same stratosphere as Witt. Witt was a consensus top 2 prospect going into last season, put up a solid rookie year and is following that up with an even better second year. Meanwhile Peña has regressed significantly from year 1 to 2. I love Pena, but if I could choose between the two I’m taking Witt every day and twice on Sunday.
I hate to wade into this, but Fangraphs trade value series put Witt as #36 and Peña as #37. Witt has a higher ceiling, but Peña is the more consistent SS defender. I'm pretty sure the Royals would trade their GM before they trade Witt, though, so it's pretty moot. They've been marketing him as the next face of the franchise since he was drafted.
I'd guess Witt should be about 7-8 spots higher than that board. There is about 1 trade every year or two in which one team dramatically overpays for a short term contract/control. Ever since Dave Cameron left, the FanGraphs Trade Value list has skewed too much towards these outlier trades, IMO.
Apparently both Rays and Yankees put catchers from 26 man on IL today. That will be an interesting watch heading to the deadline.
I think we should trade for Brandon Drury to be our super utility guy. Dude can play all but pitcher and catcher. Bats good and has good def
If we are looking for a Pure hitting LHB it's Lane Thomas. Batting .361 against leftys. And hits for decent avg against Rightes
