Tucker is better than Robert. Better defense, better speed, proven in the playoffs and a LH bat (100x more valuable)
The Astros aren’t gonna give Tucker what he wants but pay Ohtani 400 million more? Yeah right. Ohtani ain’t resigning here if we trade for him. So you’ve just ruined the Astros for nothing.
I love Tucker, but hahahahahahaha Robert has a gold glove (that he earned) and is having another great defensive season and is leading contender to win again. Tucker isxweak this year. Sorry we all see it. .center field is a far more valuable position. I guess we need to see in the playoffs.Tucker is a solid, not ground breaking. 748 ops in 51g / 191 PA.
And if Bonds didn't do roids and still was able to hit 72 HRs every year for 10 years straight... he'd be the greatest of all time. There is zero chance Ohtani maintains his pace both as a pitcher and a hitter. He's just above average as a pitcher anyhow (not elite by any means) and he will slow down with age and injuries over the years. Give us Ohtani for the next 3 years and I'm good with that... 5 years and perhaps the cost is worth it in the first few... but any more than that and it's a negative for the organization.
If Crane is not going to pony up and pay Tucker the salary and years he is looking for, I would rather the team be proactive and not let another elite player walk for nothing.
Disagree about not having room for Gilbert to play. You have Yordan, Chas, Robert, Tucker, and Gilbert for 4 positions. 648 games started. 130 games each. In playoffs you have one he'll of a PH, PR, or defensive replacement that an opposing manager needs to consider when making pitching changes. But moot because gonna need to trade Gilbert to get Robert.
Astros eyeing SP Michael Lorenzen -- 4-6 3.49 era. Tigers only All_star. Idk - not too excited about that
We do not need Robert now and the cost would be terribly limiting for our future. Much better and less costly to get Cease and Stroman and a LH fourth OF for Meyers. Win now AND in the future!
What? You said that Ohtani would not rack up enough counting stats to be considered the greatest of all time if he did it for 10 more years at his current pace . I countered that would be the greatest 10 year run in baseball history. I’m confused by bringing up Barry Bonds and then saying Ohtani won’t be healthy?
Number of postseasons remaining under team control: Chas - 4 Robert Jr. - 5 Tucker - 3 That's winning now AND in the future.
I was not the original poster of that and was only responding to you. In light of this new evidence I have no choice but to retract my Bonds statement
