You probably have read the whole thread but obviously you didnt understand it. Are you sitting by @cmoak1982 smoking from the same tree? I never said we don't have legitimate bigs, I said NOT ENOUGH. We need an additional big
@Nook said Alpi is not the long term answer, basically he's too short and you "Liked" it. I said lets give him time to see how or if he grows and you curse me out! Lol Dude, maybe you still at Happy Hour, I dont know! But you're all over the place. My stance has been that we need an EXTRA BIG to go along with who we have currently. We need more size
@Nook said Alpi is not the long term answer, basically he's too short and you "Liked" it. I thought you liked Sengun? I said lets give him time to see how or if he grows and you curse me out! Lol Dude, maybe you still at Happy Hour, I dont know! But you're all over the place. My stance has been that we need an EXTRA BIG to go along with who we have currently. We need more size
Sengun was 6’8.5” and 243 when he entered his first training camp. Last year he supposedly measured 6’9” and 248 …. He ended the season at 253. He said he was measured this off season by the same Rockets staff at 6’11” and 265. He turns 21 at the end of the month. You could tell by his legs as a teenager that he was going to put weight on his frame. At this pace, he will struggle to stay in the 260’s. He could easily be 275-280 when he fills out. I have mixed feelings about it. The weight gain is going to impact his ability to switch and defend.
It isn’t that he is too short - he just doesn’t have the skill set of the modern NBA center. His height is fine, he lacks the massive wing span, lacks the foot speed to switch and lacks the ability to come over from the weak side consistently. To me he is more of a man defender, who can take up space, keep his man out of posting up and on occasion get a steal in the paint. His real skill is on the offensive side- he is going to become a good 3 point shooter as well and be a very efficient and gifted offensive player.
Exactly! Thats why I think it will be difficult for him to be a PF but its still possible for him to develop as a center. He's only 21yrs old, so he has time to develop and grow even further.
Once he develops a three point shot it will be less of an issue, if one at all. He will play PF next to a long center with a massive wingspan that can cover everyone’s mistakes around the paint. Players like Eason, Smith and Thompson will cover any mistakes Sengun makes on defense. Effort isn’t going to be a problem, neither will feel for the game or discipline on when to switch. Sengun is a very interesting player, and cannot play with everyone on the defensive side - but the Rockets have like 80% of the pieces they need to help him.
the weight gain is indeed worrying.....having longer limbs and higher shoulders would've indicated a more positive outlook - him cutting weight like Jokic did
I respect Nook, that doesn’t mean he’s right about Alp. What we know right now is he is the best young prospect on the team. We also know you’re an absolute moron that has no knowledge of any sport whatsoever
If all that's true he actually will be close to Jokic's measurements, on the other hand--maybe he will be able to take up space the way Jokic can. He certainly shouldn't get bullied by players like JV anymore. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
Without the weight or height gain he was running down like a baby giraffe.....Jokic while slow actually runs more fluidly....that is an observation.
While both are not the most athletic l, I think Sengun has shown flashes of athletic ability; block shots, dunks, etc. I just think he hasn't physically matured as of yet and thats why I said we need another big, a 3rd center.
Jokic is 280Ibs sengun isn't as thick as him. He will be around Vuc's or Valanciunas' weight which is 265-270. I'm having hard time picturing him as big as Jokic on my mind. I don't think his bones will grow any more. Brook is 280Ibs no way he gets that big.
He has Gasol neck syndrome. Based on that photo with Valanciunas he was at least 6'10 last season. There was not more than 1 inch height difference bw them.
He does have a longer neck, once he gets stronger in his traps and works on his posture his shoulders won’t look as low
We also know that you are all over the place when you drink and based upon your post.....you've been drinking again. However, Alpi is not our best young prospect but he is ONE of our better young prospects. Also, I see you agreed with me that Alpi is not the same size as Valaciunas and that Alpi has an extra long neck. Once you stop drinking, you will see Im pretty smart for a moron dont you think?? Lol
I love how you think you know me. At no point have I ever responded to you drunk, I drink maybe three times a year. Don’t try and deflect from your prejudice and bigotry, nor your ignorance. You’re a crap human.
